the eastern toilets are a lot cleaner overall and better 4 health.. but we r used to western toilets..

^ cleaner, no I dont think so. they stink, you may clean it as much as possible, they still stink. When you are doing your business, the whole place stinks, with western type bathrooms you can flush it asap, so the place is clean.
With pakistani type of toiletts, it splashes back, eeek! no way i am using those, even its urgent, i would wait till I find a seat toilet. This is allways a problem in Pakistan if you are going outside. I try to find the seat toilet and to my suprise they are more cleaner than the squat down type as the ppl use those more often.
btw when I got married I asked my husband to change the toilet adjusting his room to a seat before I came there after rukshati. He did, so did they changed 2 other toilets. My MIL was pleased and said these seats are much better for such old ppl as them.
My all relatives, who are building new houses or are renovating their old houses are putting seats toilets for guests (such as us living abroad) hehehe
BTW you can find pakistani types of toilets in Italy too.

People moved and I ended out at the Northwest Pacfic when I was going to go to Chicago, one of these days I will make it out and I will let you know.

Ground-toilets are not just a Paki/Muslim thing. They have them in Greece, Spain, Italy, Thailand, Japan, China etc. as well.
They are better because:
It is more natural for us to squat whilst relieving ourselves.
Your bowels are more thoroughly and more easily evacuated.
They are more hygienic because your butt is not in contact with an infected toilet-seat.
It is possible to wash oneself afterwards using an attached shower-head or water-can, which is not possible on the seat-toilets unless they come with a bidet.
*]Squatting strengthens and exercises your lower body (quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, calves and lower-back).
