I know most girls in Pakistan have or want to have long toenails. Here, in the US, it’s considered gross.
I really think it’s a cultural thing. I don’t believe it has anything to do with being gross or otherwise because how can we here, in the US, love long fingernails but frown on long toenails?
In Pakistan, you’re considered to have beautiful feet if you have long toenails.

lol yeah, i noticed, but im not a big fan of long nails or toenails. besides, i think even wudu is an issue if the nails are longer than a certain length.

don't girls even here in the US get french manicure (err pedicure) for toenails? if i remember correctly i have seen it, the girl was wearing anklet, toe rings, and had those design/flower thingies on her toenails and the toenails had white tips, as the fingernails do when u get a french manicure

Not pedicures... Long toenails.. & I mean long...! haha..
Long toe nails are :S and they're hazardous too! I don't even like really long fingernails either..

I met someone recently who was visiting from Pakistan and she had long toenails. She was amazed girls here didn't keep long toenails..! haha..
I kept wondering though -- doesn't it hurt her feet to wear closed-toe shoes?:p

and yep i agree with shay, i think wudu is an issue with having long nails, on your feet or hands or wherever lol.

Yeah I've seen many women from pak with long toenails, it's soooo off putting, but then I guess they hardly need to wear closed shoes.

This is my pet peeve. Long toenails, just ugh ugh make me want to barf. It's such a big thing in pakistan, doesn't even look remotely nice.
I dont like super long nails either, anything above 2mm is a bit too much, I feel like i'm growing claws. Also if one nail breaks, pleaseeee shape the others too. It's just not symmetrical and looks weird.

This is so funny - I wanted to post about this!! I know a desi gal who has such beautiful feet except for her long toenails. I wanted to go after her with nail clippers.
You can have short toenails and even get a nice french manicure on them, it looks so clean and nice when the nails are trimmed.

Long toenails are gross .. sorry but they are :p .. and well nails should be well kept and short ... even fingernails in pak are extra long compared to Europe .. Eww!

loooooong.. like well over 1cm.
i noticed it a couple of years ago when a newly married couple came to our house, the girl was from pak and she had these friggen long toe nails, shaped really pointy too. i don't really like long finger nails but long toe nails are just plain wrong, they look like animal paws. hmm, ever since then when i've been to pakistan, i've noticed that girls have long toe nails even if their finger nails are short.
