Today's Surah....

Ok, I didn’t understand a single word of recitation (except for the Bismillah part). What’s he saying? Translation, please.

i understood pretty well :)

I hope you are not asking that in sarcasm. I'll put up english translation (if I can find it) in a couple of days.

Heres the text:

Sura 84: The Rupture (Al-Inshiqaaq)

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
  1. The time will come when the sky is ruptured.

  2. It will submit to its Lord and expire.

  3. The earth will be leveled.

  4. It will eject its contents, as it erupts.

  5. It will submit to its Lord and expire.

  6. O humans, you are irreversibly head-
ing for a meeting with your Lord.

  7. As for the one who receives his
    record in his right hand,

  8. His reckoning will be easy.

  9. He will return to his people joyfully.

    1. As for the one who receives his record behind his back,
    2. He will be ridden with remorse.
    3. And will burn in Hell.
    4. He used to act arrogantly among his people.
    5. He thought that he will never be called to account.
    6. Yes indeed, his Lord was Seer of him.
    7. I solemnly swear by the rosy dusk.
    8. And the night as it spreads.
    9. And the moon and its phases.
    10. You will move from stage to stage.
    11. Why do they not believe?
    12. And when the Quran is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate.
    13. This is because those who disbelieved are rejecting (the Quran).
    14. GOD is fully aware of their innermost thoughts.
    15. Promise them painful retribution.
    16. As for those who believed and led a righteous life, they receive a recompense that is well-deserved.

who---me, thanks.

Matsui, that's why you're a biggot. You pick the "bad" parts to bash and ignore the good ones to suite your justification. No one really asked you to comment, specially since you don't subscribe to the faith. But you chose to comment, freely, for a certain motive. That motive is biased and meant to put down the faith of others. I personally don't subscribe to the "apocalyptic" tone of God to use the scare tactics and do think that's the "bad" part of the Surah but at the same time, condemation of arrogance in the same Surah is as universally true and hits the core as it can ever get regardless of religious bounderies. But of course, you'd pick and choose what you want to comment on based on your own motives.

Jazakallah :flower1:

beautifully recited.

who recited it?

^ how dare u insult verses of Quran?

parhay likhay jahil insaan. no one asked u to comment on this one.
u lost all the respect from me.

Surror, sorry if it offended you. It was not meant to be offensive. I was just showing roman that I considered brimstone and hellfire reserved . for non believers as quite an offensive statement actually let me rephrase that...quite a insecure statement from god.

I was raised to question things. Next time someone points out something in the Gita or the Bible that is in the same vein...I will offer the same objectivity. And would ask you to do the same. God cannot be so thin skinned. Otherwise, s(he) would lose all respect from me. :)

Vaisey, regarding the whole respect thing. It is ok. I still plan on gong to bed around 11:30 est.

there is a thing called "respecting" what ppl believe in and tolerance. something u shud learn to do when it comes to talking about religions! faith n religious faith is something that ppl hold very near to their hearts, whether they follow it or not. n u r not God to judge whats right and wrong.

Suroor, you're quite right of course, faith moves mountains and in the end that is what counts...

Mat- have to say I think the same as you, but then all hindus do. It's a weakness...

I agree with you Suroor. Just as the poster can post something that is close to their heart out into the public domain where the intention might not be to showcase insecurity but piety. THe impression that the reader can get is that the perceived piety is actually insecurity and since it is ina public domain, it is open to discussion and analyses.

What is in the heart of the poster or the faith bearer will not change because they have a particular interpretaiton of what they post. But it cannot be the same for those who read it. It is with this mind set that I question whether non-believers will go hell per god's supposed word. Not as an affront to the posters religion but according to my interpretation.

Mr. Matsui,

May I ask you that what do you think is the purpose of life on this planet?

TO live it to the fullest.

i cant believe on the first day of Ramzan we're having a discussion like this.. hmmm..

neways... my favorite poem... (not just for muslims)

Saying by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Knowledge of God in my Capital
Reason is the Root of my Faith
Love is my Foundation
Enthusiasm is my Horse
Remembrance of God is my Friend
Firmness is my Treasure
Sorrow is my Companion
Science is my Instrument
Patience is my Mantle
Contentment is my Prize
Poverty is my Pride
Devotion is my Art
Conviction is my Power
Truth is my Redeemer
Obedience is my Sufficiency
Struggle is my Manner, and
My Pleasure is my Prayers.

Saddzz, I agree..that is beautiful…it is great…:flower1:

thanx Matty  i nearly made a friend of mine cry when i recited that for him ..hmm :flower2:

Mr. Matsui,

Do you believe in a creator which has created this universe for a purpose and also created humans for a purpose?

If you believe that the sole purpose of your life on this earth is to live to live at its fullest without any obligation towards your creator then Why do you worry so much about how according to Holy Quran, Allah would treat you in hereafter. Just live it to the fullest and then die and that according to you should be the end of it. Why Worry?
