toasting bagels at home

so I love bagels, and I always take them double toasted. Whenever i buy a few in bulk , n try to toast them at home in the toaster oven, they get tooo crispy and hard-to-bite into. What can I do to eat my tim’s bagels, exactly like they do it… at home?

Re: toasting bagels at home

Did you try experimenting with the toaster timer settings?

You can't. See, its the added sweatiness of their palms which ensures the right amount of crunchiness!

Re: toasting bagels at home

toast em on a skillet at relatively high heat.

most toasters heat both sides, i hate it when my bagels outside is toasted too.

Re: toasting bagels at home

toast them in oventoaster..

Re: toasting bagels at home

do u keep em in the fridge? if so, microwave em for a few seconds than toast at a very light setting for more time

Re: toasting bagels at home

I toast them in regular toaster and they come out just fine.

Re: toasting bagels at home

what does double toasted mean? Oprah mentioned that she likes her bagels that way too on her show a couple days ago and I was wondering what that meant.

Re: toasting bagels at home

double toasted = crunchy and slightly charred.

I exactly do the same thing and they are fine

hmm cool suggestions guys. I think the problem is more with the fact that the bagel gets toasted on both sides. I don't store them in the fridge, but before popping them in the oven toaster, i microwave them for like 15 secs.

A commercial bagel toaster only toasts the bagels on the inside.. and given that I like em double toasted, perhaps I really should play with the oven settings. I wonder if they sell those commercial bagel toasters for cheap for household use...
