Re: To those living in Sindh province..
My father's family migrated from Shikarpur and my father has many Hindu neighbours. Whenever we used to visit our Aunt in interior sindh, all of us kids used to play together without any discrimination of being Hindu or Muslim. Being neighbours, just like with any other Muslim Neighbour, exchange of food on special occasion was almost a routine. So it was just like a normal life then (not sure about now though).
Then in Karachi, I went to DJ College (Dayaram Jaithmal College) which has a temple in surrounding and hence lots of Hindus visiting the place. They never appeard as "outcast" with their cloths, language etc. In fact my Physics proff was Hindu (Sir Ravi Shankar). A very nice personality. Visited his house many times and appered to me a normal house just like any other Pakistani's house :)
PS: All these experiences are from mid-90s. Now sure where things stand right now though.

Yaar.wo to illicit liquor' hi hoga aur shayad arrack’.
I do not think he would be selling the original liquor using the permit.
Re: To those living in Sindh province..
On a personal note,I would say the legal liquor rates are not over priced but imported Beer cans cost more .Heineken and all...
Re: To those living in Sindh province..
apart from involvement in liquor supply by men, Hindu ladies are also expert in preparing papaR, achar and Halwas.
This Diwali I got chance to have halwa from neighbors and it was ![]()
Regarding papaR, many Hindus who settled in India, their ladies helped and contributed in income by selling papaR. Yesterday, I read a story ‘Bhoori’ translated from Sindhi to English in a book ‘Unbordered memories’, where a poet’s wife was angry because her husband stared at a lady who came to their home in Baroda for selling paapaR and afterwards came to know that the papaR wali lady was a neighbor of the poet in Hyderabad Sindh before partition. The poet shares with the wife about the grief that Sindhi Hindus left everything in Sindh and just carried beautiful faces with them to India and that beauty was affected due to hardships in settling in new land. The story ends with the positive note by the poet that in all that process Sindhi ladies turned into independent and self sufficient. :k:

This is something that should not be glamorised as majority of the victims of kachi sharab are poor Harijans (Dalits) of Sindh, who consider this wine consumpton as some high act after looking bolly movies and people from higher society (both Muslims and Hindus)

When I was in DJ, Sir Ravi Shankar was principal of college. I visited his office few time for annual scholarship money and signature on important documents.
