I’m not a scholar or an aalim, but if I were reading the translation out of context, my first question would be:

To whom are these pious women being asked to be obedient to, as it is not specified. Isn’t Allah asking for obedience to Him and devotion to Him?

it’s to the husband, that’s the whole gist of the ayat. The man starts out as being the incharge/maintainer and due to that the woman is bound to be devoted/obdeiant to him.

But you’re right in a way. We are all obediant to Allah , man or woman.
