We have been reading in our books that Tipu was a great freedom fighter and hero. Poets like Iqbal always ideolised him and portrayed as a hero.
There is a view that he was intolerant towards hindus and converted them with force? What are the facts behind this controversial theory?
What about his father Haider Ali? Naseem Hijazi’s novels say that Haider Ali saved Muslims from Hindu atrocities.

Then one should never accept for any ethics from others, because war and love can almost cover all the illegal acts and wars seen in the history. creating towers of human heads was love of mongols.

He is both a hero and a villain. He can be respected as a freedom fighter which was his most redeeming quality . He did help Hindus with endowments and gifts to temples but he did more damage than help.

That was also the case with Aurangzeb. he gave money and built temples, but is infamous for destroying temples too

No I don’t think so. No school there. Indians are more inclined to convert former palaces into 5 star hotels

Did not find info to hindus persecuting muslims at that time. Haider Ali usurped the throne when the king died.
Mysore’s titular ruler Krishnaraja died in April 1766, while Hyder was in Malabar. Hyder had left orders that Krishnaraja’s son Nanjaraja be invested should that happen, and he only later came to formally pay his respects to the new rajah. I remember Pakistan made a movie on haider Ali, where they shown Muslim persecution. It might be inspired from Naseem Hijazi’s urdu novel ‘Haider Ali’. will try to find further material.

Its not a poll dear posters. We need to provide our arguments supported by some references.
BTW, how come he executed Hindus and Door Darshan made a serial portraying him as hero.
