I am sure there are some men who do marry abused/divorced girls. Probably not for the reasons you mentioned though. For example, pious men do so for the sake of ajar, not with the expectation of getting an eternally grateful wife but with the intention to actually take care of her and show her kindness and in turn hope that Allah will be pleased with them for their selfless act.

Never read anywhere to marry for charity, there is so much talk about piety without ever backing it up with actions.
