Time to do some change in Life1

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

Why this kolaveri, Di? Take a chill pill man, it is Friday evening.

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

And by the way, I am providing feedback - I do not believe there is a need for a strong male moderator, kapish?

On topic now?

Opps - I thought this was feedback forum - just realized this was support/help - no more posts from me here. Sorry OP and mods.

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

And you did come up with fake apology as I expected. You are so predictable. Let it be a feedback thread and not be a playground for your smart whatever comments. I can answer you in detail but don't want to. Goodbye.

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

^self-righteous much, Mr. Omniscient?

There was a reason for the apology, 'cause I later realized I posted in wrong thread - sorry did not realise logic does not work with you. Oops, did I apologize again?

You can have the last word.

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

What part of not coming back you did not understand. Never mind, I know the answer.

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

^ One more time - this time slooooowly bro - I first thought it was the feedback thread, so I posted. Then I realized it was a support/help thread, where technically (at least my understanding), only folk who can help you - that is, the mods, should respond. Hence my apology. Kapish.

And stop being so hard on yourself - I feel your pain when you smack yourself. Good night :)

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

Oh goodness at you two.

Diwana, I'll be happy to appoint a male mod in life1. I've asked 2 potential candidates but they've turned down my request. I put a hold on that but now with this thread, I'll revisit that thought. Thank you.

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

Again? With another silly/retarded reason? Why are you hell bent in trying to derail the thread?

I mean come on! Enough is enough.

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

Thank you Niksik. :)

Sorry Southie has this evil tendency of being passive aggressive which needs to be countered politely but firmly. I do that on daily basis. :)

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

Because gender discrimination is too prominent to go unnoticed? Especially in a sub-forum that revolves equally around men and women combined? 3-0 in F&B has the potential to make considerable amounts of sense. 6-1 in cafe is another controversial subject but has no effect on us men folks life. 4-0 in life1 however, speaks volumes otherwise and is precisely where the curious/concerned minds are laying their valid emphasis on.

I'm guessing you haven't been around much to notice the contribution/participation that's been provided by the men folks in life1. But yes, its mainly been disappointing and discouraging for the one's who did try expressing their genuine/neutral views about life and relationships, only to be picked out of context or by a chained criticism infested crew. Thus, I personally won't be surprised if they chose not to post any more. There's apparently a threshold to the number of uncalled for hits a man's shoulder could take.

The OP or the concerned minds aren't necessarily asking for a complete rework of the system or even a shift switch of balances. The imbalance can remain even with a 4-2 combination of female and moderators respectively, but it does provide the men folks with tiny bits of encouragement/security that their posts/views won't go unnoticed or reach the ruins in record time, as has been the case since a long long while. The join date only tells of a quarter of the time I've been an active lurker around here.

The way things are panning out around, there's also the undocumented amount of general folks being deprived of what goes within the life of a man or how he chooses to indulge in relationships. Do we see ample amounts of such content coming from the men folks? I don't.

Therefore I do not see a reason as to why I cannot entirely support of what the OP asks for. Even if the change comes attached with conditions or is brought in on a strict trial and test basis. I think people should still be up for it. If the atmosphere doesn't change after assigning a couple new male mods, get back to the usual scheme and theme of things. No harm done. If it does manages to bring a positive change, endorse/appreciate it as well as the much boom of traffic it promises. You won't know it, till you don't try it.

I'm all up for the nominations mentioned in the original post except for one ineligible earthling that is Exodus (Valid reasons, I promise) and with all due respect to Diwana and Sta. Along with the rest, I think I'd personally believe CM'gogo, Partyslims and Diwana are potentially well equipped enough to bring in a good positive change in life1 as well.

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

heres a suggesstion , we should never take suggestions from sexist guppies.pffftttt

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

Respectfully would like to add 2 points and keep the dialogue collegial (accepting my role for lack of it earlier).

First, though I concede individuals can get aggressive, when OP refers to "aggressive female warriors" in Life1, he is revealing a bias that will introduce an unhealthy US vs. THEM atmosphere. Most ladies in Life1 are reasonable (even if I may disagree with their POV). But they dont brook nonsense.

Second, IMO, OP's recommendation for a "strong male moderators" will further contribute to an unhealthy atmosphere.

While I personally do not know any Life1 mode well, each of them has been pretty much gender neutral in terms of how they address "issues". Bringing in strong male mods to counter aggressive female posters will turn Life1 into a bigger circus. Cheers.

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

Diwana thanks for the kind words, others think I am too strict and at times maybe I am :hehe:

Anyhow as Niksik said changing sexes when it comes to appointing Moderators does not help. As Moderators we cannot pick or choose who we argue against, for the most part we have to stay neutral and express our views in threads in such a way that people don’t take anything personally. Gender would matter little imo. If one person is aggressive or dominating and is wrong then he or she will take offense at whatever a Mod says, whether that Mod is a female or a male.

Also at others who think there is some conspiracy going on with regards to sexism; Niksik was my CM and the first one to ask me to become a Moderator, she is the least sexist person on GS and she has always chosen Mods on ability and never on their gender.

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

Welcome.

As I said above, Some Mods do get personal and at times discourage some members ho hold a different point of view and maybe you will say they do it not as a Mod but how can one not see they are Mods.

Second, I don’t think there is a conspiracy anywhere or deliberate attempt is made to appoint certain gender. I only pointed out the observation I made and provided some food for thought.

As Niksik said the search is going on and that’s good enough.

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

Dude, give me one reason that justifies a 4-0 female dominated life1 forum?

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

You’re proclaimably strict? Sweet.

Where were you when someone was called a Motherfuc’er?
Where were you when a female respected moderator chose to prime minister (PM) telling 2 male members how she feels they’re Diwana and goes on saying “I like butter and chocolate, and I like butter and chocolate on you. What do you like?”

Give us all men folks one reason that justifies the decision to keep 15 females against 2 male members?

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

Exodus, I am not privy to the decision making process. I suspect the selectors are not approaching this with an attitude that only female mods would be selected. It is possible so far most of the candidates were female for the Life forum. As more males get interested and apply, it is a matter of time before a suitable candidate, who happens to be male, will make the cut.

It is more important to have mods who are cool headed (unlike yours truly!) and calm under all conditions, and are fair to everyone. Having male vs female agendas to me is an automatic disqualification for the post of a Moderator.

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

Oh I have one or two multi? Great.

My cloning experiments worked. Yay!

I like ‘prime minister’ by the way. :hehe:

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

Rarely does anyone apply. People get picked with the consent of the higher authorities.

Demand for equality does/should not suggest it to become a battle of the two sexes. Its plain fairness from the word go.

4-0 in Life1
4-0 in Rendezvous

So again, after being able to sink in with the reality/statistical correctness that speaks in volumes. Provide us with one absolute valid reason that clarifies the gender discrimination that is way obvious to the rest of the men crew. Simultaneously, also give us a reason as to why a request to assign 4 male moderators with 8 female moderators is such a unfair idea to you?

Re: Time to do some change in Life1

there is NO criteria to chose anyone as a mod.......if there is........its not been made public......
