Re: Time Delay in Dreams
tlk,
nice topic.
yes, the brain does keep a track of the actual real time. but it also actually wanders off too to a point where the time flow is ignored.
in mental health, this is a really turn key for developing new modalities of therapy.
when people are grieving, tim egoes by very slow and when they have dead lines to meet, time goes by very fast.
one may hionk that one can paint one's room anew, in a day, infact it may taken one a week. that is called planning falacy.
as humans leading fast 24 hrs lives, we at diff times, are bound to lose our fight against rushing against the same time. the break, in fact allows one to regroup.
so, in a way, a slowed down sense of passage of time, is not a bad idea.
it has recovery potential in it.
on the other hand, people also should not become day dreamers and not put forth any effort and thus lose even further time and then feel that they have to make up for so much.
reading a book in 15 min is true. but certainly, it can not be that one is able to complete doctoral studies in a few hours.
a healthy mind will know when to speed up and when to be relaxed.
best,
