Time Delay in Dreams 

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

I dont know about that ... I do remember dreaming about me being in my fathers (late, now) house and not being married.

Now I dont recall knowing my age in those dreams ...

so maybe I am seeing present time but in some alternative reality in which my father is alive and I am still single

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

It is one of my mere guesses.
even i don't know much about it ,

all the things i have dreamed about in my life are in the sequence of occurring -

abh kia kahoon - apna knowledge limited hey iss baray main

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

aray bhai, apna to knowledge hai hee nahee is baaray maiN, at least you have limited one ...

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

the topic was good :k:

limited knowledge = no knowledge

same thing

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

time delay naheen time discrepency bolo baba

wahan virtual jootian parti hon gi

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

You don't live dream, you observe and watch it like a movie, though as a character within.

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

:hmmm: time discrepency

so that it can be varied .

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

true sometime you sleep for hours but the dream is of just some fleeting moment

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

Man you think deep

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

but the amazing part is ... sometimes its the other way around ... and that is what my topic was

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

and even then we are talking time disparity or time discrepency and not time delay.

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

I was not using "time delay" in any scientific manner. Mybe for the lack of better term.

OK, if you think that time discrepency is a better term .. lets use that.

So how do you (or anyone) explain the fact that people do dream about some real stuff that is about to happen.

Dream interpratation is a proper art and has deep roots, even in Islam.

and then we all have these Deja-Vu experiences.

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

ok.
Dream may come into brain in a sec. but content may be 3 hrs long.
Like down loading a move in 15 mins and need 2 hrs to watch it.

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

SO subconcious mind dumps all the crap in your barin with in few seconds, the one that has been collected for ages ...

so you watch a 3 hour long dream ... in 3 minutes ??

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

you know we only see in few dimensions. And the we try illustrate every thing on base of out limited way of perception.

You tell me one reason why you think you lived/passed through entire 3 hrs while you were sleep?
We go through time and events point by point. Other wise it could be just present and static.
A glimps into it and a brain need 3 hrs to rethinks on the human terms.

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

^^ I agreed with you when you said that time moves through us.

So in real life, speed of time is 1 sec/ second

in dreams, it could be 1 minute /second ... or something like that

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

tlk,
nice topic.

yes, the brain does keep a track of the actual real time. but it also actually wanders off too to a point where the time flow is ignored.

in mental health, this is a really turn key for developing new modalities of therapy.

when people are grieving, tim egoes by very slow and when they have dead lines to meet, time goes by very fast.

one may hionk that one can paint one's room anew, in a day, infact it may taken one a week. that is called planning falacy.

as humans leading fast 24 hrs lives, we at diff times, are bound to lose our fight against rushing against the same time. the break, in fact allows one to regroup.
so, in a way, a slowed down sense of passage of time, is not a bad idea.
it has recovery potential in it.

on the other hand, people also should not become day dreamers and not put forth any effort and thus lose even further time and then feel that they have to make up for so much.

reading a book in 15 min is true. but certainly, it can not be that one is able to complete doctoral studies in a few hours.

a healthy mind will know when to speed up and when to be relaxed.
best,
Dushwari

Re: Time Delay in Dreams 

you my laugh at me. But I know that for sure the way we are bound to time. Our brain is not.
I had true dreams as long as I could remember. I use to get scared/worried.
Then I found out why that happens. So Now when I see some thing I can tell some thing coming.
There is some thing in brain which don't agree/comply with our every personality.

Re: Time Delay in Dreams ???

this happens with you are really tired.

Re: Time Delay in Dreams ???

Zobia, actually when I am really tired, I dont dream much. I have to be mid-tired ... I am not joking ...

Sometimes, when I am over caffinated ... my body is sleeping but mind is up ... at that time , i see dreems too.
