Why does the time between Iftar and Isha prayer go so fast ?
It is not like that during the rest of the year.
I have always felt that as soon as you are done with iftaar, maghrib prayer and sometimes perhaps with a light dinner, you end up rushing for Isha lest it not be missed
Try iftari composed of just one khajoor and one glass of water and then , magrib and then light dinner in view of the sahri , you will have ample time till Isha prayer.
There is an average of 1 hour 20 minutes between Maghrib and Isha .. not enough for Iftaar, namaaz, dinner and nap .. especially if masjid is at a drive and you leave 10-15 minutes before Isha jamaat.
The problem is, if you delay Isha jamaat, then it gets very late by the time taraweeh finishes.

Why not finish Iftari and dinner together .. and then do Maghrib (unless you are going to Masjid for that)
