Re: Tikka Khan?

I know a tangay wala named tikka khan from my neighboring village.

Re: Tikka Khan?

Is it his real name? or people called him so because he resembled to original Tikka Khan?

Re: Tikka Khan?

Not sure, if it was his real name, but I saw him being called by that name only. he was also gora chitta and laal but didtn resemble to general tikka khan.

Re: Tikka Khan?

probably name lost popularity for the same reasons like name of Halaku Khan, Changez Khan (though Changez is not that extinct name).

Re: Tikka Khan?

Could this be a kuniyat or laqab?

Re: Tikka Khan?

could be. In army, its quite possible, but again there are no accounts mentioning his name other than Tikka Khan

Re: Tikka Khan?

Strange name to say the least, no meaning and not common.

The Tribune - Windows - This Above All

After Bangladesh won its Independence, I went to Pakistan on the invitation of its new ruler Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. I was anxious to meet (by then retired) General Tikka Khan to get his side of the story. He turned down my request for an interview. He did not want to see any Indian, least of all a Sikh journalist. I asked my friend Manzur Qadir to plead on my behalf. He assured Tikka Khan that I bore no ill-will towards Pakistan and I would faithfully report what he had to say about his role in the uprising in what was to become Bangladesh.

It turned out to be quite a memorable interview.

Re: Tikka Khan?

actually three. PPP's General Secretary as well. Benazir made him Governor Punjab. :D

Now, stories of 'Idhar Hum, Idhar Tum' are making sense to me :p

Re: Tikka Khan?

Re: Tikka Khan?

It seems as if PPP has been inducting some of the most infamous generals. Naseerullah Babar is one.
