Hey guppans. Wanted to get your opinions. What do you think of this outfit (to wear to a wedding). I love it but am thinking maybe to change the colors up a bit and do it in silk rather than velvet (not sure about the candy apple dupatta) and maybe to make it more fitted to give it a sleeker look and actually make it a round neck without that attachment. thoughts? and maybe go sleeveless or even fitted chooridaar long sleeves?
thoughts?
Also can anyone identify the various different kaam on the outfit?
oooo thats hottttt!
change it to silk, keep it non fitted-slightly fitted, sleevless, purple/pink dupatta with gold accents...
the v-neck is actually verrry flattering...
with churidar!
mostly agree with chanda - make it a bit shorter (that border looks weird all the way down there), sleeveless, fitted, churidaar, duputta in that dark purple.
i would hazard a guess and say it's mostly gold thread (tila) work.
As for the material, it depends on where you live. If you are in Toronto/London, Im sure u'll keep the velvet. In a warmer climate, I personally feel chiffon would work wonders. Raw silk is another possibility and would look glamorous.
Instead of the acid green--wht abt a burnt orange or even a very deep plum????? That would give a more "warm" color flow and the duppatta wouldnt be as distracting.
There's a thick gota patti at the border.
The sunflower-like motifs looks as if they are made from regular gota as well.
the long floral motifs on the jacket are made of dabka. Usually dabka is placed next to kora (gives a more delicate yet intricate appearance).
that's actually something i would love to order for eid, but i would make it more into a full kaftan than a top with pants... i mean if your top is that long why not make it a full dress...
