Thoughts on this outfit?

Hey guppans. Wanted to get your opinions. What do you think of this outfit (to wear to a wedding). I love it but am thinking maybe to change the colors up a bit and do it in silk rather than velvet (not sure about the candy apple dupatta) and maybe to make it more fitted to give it a sleeker look and actually make it a round neck without that attachment. thoughts? and maybe go sleeveless or even fitted chooridaar long sleeves?
thoughts?

Also can anyone identify the various different kaam on the outfit?

:hayaa:

I love it! I would definitely have it more fitted, as sleeveless and with churidar.

Who is the original designer?

Re: Thoughts on this outfit?

oooo thats hottttt!
change it to silk, keep it non fitted-slightly fitted, sleevless, purple/pink dupatta with gold accents...
the v-neck is actually verrry flattering...
with churidar!

Re: Thoughts on this outfit?

***There is too much happening in that outfit.........

Firstly one has to be real tall to carry it off well and secondly not everyone can look good in those colours..............***

Re: Thoughts on this outfit?

Very pretty! nd love the colours but agree with Sheyn, one got to be very tall.

Re: Thoughts on this outfit?

I think it'll be hot with the changes that you're wanting to make.

Re: Thoughts on this outfit?

mostly agree with chanda - make it a bit shorter (that border looks weird all the way down there), sleeveless, fitted, churidaar, duputta in that dark purple.
i would hazard a guess and say it's mostly gold thread (tila) work.

Re: Thoughts on this outfit?

Love the outfit and the color combo - here's what I would do:

  1. Slightly shorter shirt - below the knee
  2. Slight Bell shapped full length sleeves
  3. Keep the neckline
  4. Keep open from front shirt
  5. Keep the candy apple contrast dupata with border
  6. Introduce the candy apple color in one of the thinner strips at the bottom of the shirt
  7. A churidaar, longer capris, or cigratte pants in purple/plum as shown in lengha would look awesome

Re: Thoughts on this outfit?

I absolutely adore this Faiza Samee creation:)

As for the material, it depends on where you live. If you are in Toronto/London, Im sure u'll keep the velvet. In a warmer climate, I personally feel chiffon would work wonders. Raw silk is another possibility and would look glamorous.

Instead of the acid green--wht abt a burnt orange or even a very deep plum????? That would give a more "warm" color flow and the duppatta wouldnt be as distracting.

There's a thick gota patti at the border.

The sunflower-like motifs looks as if they are made from regular gota as well.

the long floral motifs on the jacket are made of dabka. Usually dabka is placed next to kora (gives a more delicate yet intricate appearance).

seems as if if the meshy part are sequin kaam

Re: Thoughts on this outfit?

That is very pretty!

Re: Thoughts on this outfit?

Its very busy, dont know what to look at.

I quite like the colours, defo no to the fabric though.

that's actually something i would love to order for eid, but i would make it more into a full kaftan than a top with pants... i mean if your top is that long why not make it a full dress...
