Re: Thought provoking
Absolutely money will get you happiness. I know I'm going to make some people disappointed but let me explain.
Let's say Joe Schmoe is a dude about 21 yrs old (have to be legal age for understandable purposes ;) ). Now this guy is poor and he goes on about his life. There are lot of variables you can attach to this character (if you're a movie buff), e.g. family, education, love life, career etc. (not necessarily in that order). As he's a human he would be mostly unhappy (I think someone already mentioned that humans always want something more).
Now Joe (you can replace this name with Allah Ditta at this point if you want) hits a lottery ticket. So now he still has all that he had to begin with (again I'm assuming he's not a moron and messes things up) and now he has money. He can buy all the things that he'd always wanted and then some. He can continue to grow as an individual, he can make proper investments to expand his wealth, he can cure issues with his body if he had any, e.g. fix his teeth (English people not included :)). And hence I would say that money bought him happiness.
On the other hand he can goof up and loose it all. Or maybe he'd never win the lottery. But that won't be "money's fault" that he's unhappy, unless its due to the lack thereof.
Please feel free to flame me.
