Thought provoking

Re: Thought provoking

This is a very tough question especially because alhumdullilah I am well off. Life is good, I am happy. Going to pray to Allah to keep it this way, money and happiness side by side coz I have gotten used to having BOTH in my life. I think I am in the middle, I do not have problems associated with having lot's of money like family problems and people in your immediate family fighting with you and I do not have problems associated with the lack of money like not being able to afford something you want to buy and think that can bring you happiness if you own it.

Re: Thought provoking

It is relative to one's definition of happiness. For a person who relates it with gems & gowns, money will definitely bring "happiness"; but if you relate it with human emotions and personal relations with closed ones, then money becomes secondary thing and in most cases not important at all.

ummm and many ppl r not fit for the surgery even if they have million of dollars and they have to wear specs no matter wat so NO money cant buy everything.

Re: Thought provoking

You can buy **something **but not every thing with money ! Someone who don't have enough money must think that money is every thing.

But did you just think about the millionaire who commit suicide ? They had all the things but why Suicide? So for me mental satisfaction is more important then money. Now every one will question that mental satisfaction is linked with money then I"ll repeat my above question of Suicide!
Me still missed my child hood and college life even i didn't have enough money but enjoyed my life a lot.

Now 90% friends which we made in our practical life (after school & university) are linked with money and every one make you a friend because of the benefits which he / she can get from you . So you can't get sincere friends with your money

Re: Thought provoking

I'd like to answer this question in pfilmi ishtyle. Remembering the good ol days when Shashi Kapoor made a short but powerful statement in Deewar: Mere Pas Maa Hai! This flattened Big B in the movie for he had everything going for him accept his Mother.

Actually you can get plastic legs n arms ( I think that’s what you call them)

:jhanda:

awwww I remember that dialogue :(

Re: Thought provoking

Absolutely money will get you happiness. I know I'm going to make some people disappointed but let me explain.

Let's say Joe Schmoe is a dude about 21 yrs old (have to be legal age for understandable purposes ;) ). Now this guy is poor and he goes on about his life. There are lot of variables you can attach to this character (if you're a movie buff), e.g. family, education, love life, career etc. (not necessarily in that order). As he's a human he would be mostly unhappy (I think someone already mentioned that humans always want something more).

Now Joe (you can replace this name with Allah Ditta at this point if you want) hits a lottery ticket. So now he still has all that he had to begin with (again I'm assuming he's not a moron and messes things up) and now he has money. He can buy all the things that he'd always wanted and then some. He can continue to grow as an individual, he can make proper investments to expand his wealth, he can cure issues with his body if he had any, e.g. fix his teeth (English people not included :)). And hence I would say that money bought him happiness.

On the other hand he can goof up and loose it all. Or maybe he'd never win the lottery. But that won't be "money's fault" that he's unhappy, unless its due to the lack thereof.

Please feel free to flame me.

Now a days many problems occur due to poverty so you cannot exactly say that money cannot buy you happiness.

Tofibaba: No no you are entitled to your opinion, why should someone lecture you for that :)

Re: Thought provoking

Money cann't buy you happiness, love, health, family or friends. It can however buy you respect, valet parking, nice food and long vacations.

Re: Thought provoking

Yes if its Halal , it can even buy you a ticket for janat !

Re: Thought provoking

yep it can buy you every thing.
