Re: Those who speak Punjabi or know it......
Rock that is actually true, I know what you mean. I mean just like any other language Punjabi has it's own way of pronouncing things. It depends though.
On a serious note, just because it sounds a bit like urdu and we can still understand the words being said differently, I've heard a lot of people say that "Punjabi bigri huwi zubaan hai", but that's not true. If you speak it properly, it will sound better. Now those of us who have lived in Saudi say that Saudis have wrecked Arabic language because they don't talk properly, they're always so rough. But then we met this arab here and she talked so politely that eventhough you don't understand you still fall in love with the sweetness of that language and this goes for all others.
See, if I tell my sister "ae moti bahar dafa ho mere kamray se" that would make the "non urdu speaking" person feel that urdu is a bit rude but if i say "nateela please jao na i need to work" then see dono main kitna difference hai? So it's the way you throw something at someone.
I can speak punjabi pretty well. But I know that if I ever talk in punjabi I'll still say "mai school gayi saN" not "mai schoola gayi saN."
So you know if you teach your kid to say SCHOOL and not SCHOOLA then he will of course learn to say it properly just like it's pronounced in English.
Re: Those who speak Punjabi or know it…
I hope you know that it’s BILLO and not “billi”.
