..would you expect your kids to do the same and if so what would your reasons be?
Re: Those who married within your caste..
okay im not married....but my parents want me to get married 2 some1 within the same caste..and ill have to do so...but i wont expect my kids to marry within caste..but he/she must be pakistani..
Re: Those who married within your caste..
yes i would. ive seen so many marriage go wrong based on primary things such as she was bengali but hes pakistani, or hes from a higher caste and shes from lower..and so on...these petty things creep up in every relationship...
Re: Those who married within your caste..
i am gona marry in my caste n i expect the same from my kid!
bcuz maybe the boundry was so clear in my head/mind tht unconciously i fell in love wid a guy my parents would easily approve of...i hope tht boundry is clear in my kids mind too!
(im narrow minded)
Re: Those who married within your caste..
I agree with you.
Re: Those who married within your caste..
No.
Re: Those who married within your caste..

Why do u think the boundary needs to be clear?
Re: Those who married within your caste..
they should marry whoever they want to marry as long as they are Muslims and of good character.
Re: Those who married within your caste..
I think I would try... Not because Im a firm believer in it.. But for my parents sake because I know it means too much to them.
Re: Those who married within your caste..
one thing that i dont understand is why are marriages based on so many conditions?
Re: Those who married within your caste..
^ because of the way society is..... People can be very malicious
Re: Those who married within your caste..
yawn i swear islam says 'no caste/no colour' Nevermind maybe that went in one ear out the other with *some *people.
Re: Those who married within your caste..
My parents aren't too concerned about caste. As long as the guy is Pakistani and a good muslim thats all that matters. And I have the same views. I wouldn't care if my kids didn't marry within the same caste because it's just not a big deal. I even have some cousins who don't even know what caste they are!
Re: Those who married within your caste..
i wouldnt care as long as they married pakistanis but i cant speak on behalf of their the same for their father..
Re: Those who married within your caste..
My mum expects me to marry within my caste, and she's very firm on that. I, however, wouldn't force it upon my child...for my mothers sake I would make it known to my kid, look try finding someone in your own caste, but if they are really happy with someone else and I think they would make a good partner for my child then that's what matters.
I don't understand what's the point of being so rude about how some people go about marriage. If you want your child to marry within the caste then so be it, why do you have a problem with that? Are you the one being told to marry within your caste? Is it any of your concern what some people believe? Get a grip on yourself...
Re: Those who married within your caste..
No. Even if my parents (their grandparents) say otherwise.
Re: Those who married within your caste..
In Islam we don't have caste system . Its a hindu tradition , that we left behind in India .
Re: Those who married within your caste..
yeah i think cast system is pretty stupidd too
Guys plz forgive my ignorance, but because i've lived outside Pakistan almost all my life, and because these caste discussions don't really go on in my house, I'm just wondering what u guys are referring to when u say caste??
Are you referring to Sunni/Shia/Ahmadi etc or Jatt/Khan/Chaudhary etc????
Either way, its pretty stupid really.
