First of all its the job of the courts to determine if people are following laws that are in place… If people arent, then its the job of the courts to force them.

If the Courts are abusing their power, its then the job of National Assembly to dictate the limits of the courts power… Its called checks and balances..

But because Musharafd is an Autocratic dictator who refuses to have any challenges to his absolute powers, he illegally forced the Chief Justice out… This is both unconstitutional and undemocratic…

Besides, its more then a little hypocritacal for an unelected dictator like Musharaf to suddenly be defining the role of the Judiciary in a democracy…

The new Supreme Court have admitted as much.

U got it wrong buddy, he had to force CJ out coz CJ and his gang denied the constitution and law to prevail which gives President the authority to send reference in SUPREME JUDICIAL COUNSEL

You dont understand the basics of how a democracy works buddy..
The Chief Justice isnt subject to a dictator who isnt even an elected leader...

If the Chief Justice is overstepping his boundires, then its for the other branches of govt to step in to set the limits..

The Chief Justice is allowed a fair trial. Musharaf is again, just an undemocratic dictator who cant pass any judgment because its not his role to do so.

Who is Musharaf to judge if the Chief Justice is over stepping his boundry? Who is he to sack the Judiciary? He has no constitutional authority!

Now that Musharaf has over stepped his limits, who is going to sack him? Basically, Mushu isnt subject to any kind of oversight, but has full authority to declare others as unconstitutional?!?!?! Thats your logic?

May you be more specific about your assertion like " and much more interfering in everyday Govt matters". lets personify your statement with some corroborative evidences that we may discuss further to see the underlying truth in it. What do you mean by " his gang" you have at least one line of defense in favor of your reprobation against CJ’s actions, how do you vindicate your elocution against other Judges.

U don't know how Judicial review and accountability work, do you? Let me tell you

Musharraf (President of Pakistan - as sworn in by CJ Ifti) had rights (as per constitution - again the same constitution that Ifti took oath at) to send reference to SUPREME JUDICIAL COUNCIL and then its THEIR AUTHORITY to find out if the reference is RIGHT or WRONG. President DON'T DECIDE if the charges in reference are right or wrong. If president think hat charges are credible enough he sends the reference to SJC. Its SUPREME JUDICIAL COUNSEL who decides about the charges. Musharraf was NOT DECIDING IF IFTI was stepping out of boundary he was asking SUPREME JUDICIAL COUNSEL to decide.

Mushraf dismissed the Judicary buddy without sending anything to Supreme Judicial Council...
Way back when, the first time he tried to dismiss the CJ, he did it the right way... But the CJ justice was exonerated
Musharaf ofcourse wasnt even the elected President at the time of this emergency, so there goes that argument... Can an unelected Military general send a refrence to the Supreme judicial counsil?

Mushraf, DID decide on his own... He declared Emergency, and basically undermined the democratic process to prepetuate his own rule..
You do know that when an unelected president wearing two seperate uniforms calls an emergency and dismisses the judiciary it unconstitutional?

exonerated? and I thought CJ's gang never allowed SJC's proceedings to go ahead ! may be that was all dream when SC Judges stopped the constitutional process of accountability against the Judges (again the same constitution they took oath on)

When did they block it?!?!? It went through, the CJ was exonerated and Musharaf accepted it.. Di the right thing that time..
I have tried to find this on the net, but nothing comes up, so your going to have to provide a source...

No they didnt... Mushu got a rubber stamp from the old assemblies, and wasn't declared President until after the Emergency by a chamcha judiciary... Mushu offocurse cant hold to offices, and would have been disqualified... He called emergency to save his own rear.
Mushu wasnt president at the time of the Emrgency, since they were stil deliberating on whether he could have run to begin with... So he wasnt president.

WASHINGTON: A petition requesting the restoration of sacked judges and removal of restrictions on media has been sent to the government of Pakistan after being signed by hundreds of American lawyers.

The petition, initiated by lawyers of the District of Columbia Bar, requests that sacked chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and his fellow justices of the Supreme Court are restored to their posts. “We strongly recommend that the present government of Pakistan abolish all measures which impede the independence of the news media,” the lawyers state. The petition requests President Bush and Congress use their influence with President Pervez Musharraf to persuade him to reinstate the judges. That's true, the ex-CJ was not exonerated of the allegations made against him, as the Supreme Court never allowed them to be investigated by the Supreme Constitutional Council (SJC). That is recorded fact.

Twin cities’ journalists continue protest
ISLAMABAD: The journalists of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad continued their protest on Sunday for the removal of ban on media and restoration of all deposed judges.

They staged a sit-in outside the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Press Club camp office and raised anti-government slogans.

The protesting journalists said that the lifting of emergency rule was pointless unless true democracy and press freedom was restored. They vowed to continue their protest on Eid days as well.

They termed imposition of emergency rule unjustified and condemned the arrest of members of the civil society, political workers and media persons. They also criticised the government for the ban imposed on a private TV channel. staff report

Man you seriously need to go to Library and read the news papers from 9th March and on. You are seriously out of touch from the events that underwent after 9th March 2007.

Case was sent to SJC, SJC started the proceedings but then came the ruling from "the gang". They stopped the proceedings and later thrown out the reference without reviewing it. Reference was NEVER discussed into the case.....in fact SC was not even the forum to discuss the reference only SJC had the authority to do that. So basically charges agsint Ifti were never went on trial.
