I agree. When my dad moved to Canada in the late 70’s, his Sikh friend often took him to the Gurdwara for the langar which is open to all. I like that they view everyone as equals despite the religion/race they belong to. It’s a great lesson of humanity in my opinion.
Many gurdwaras feed the homeless here and new immigrants who come with not so much to start a life. A sikh friend also told me that the gurdwaras stay open 24/7. I never knew that and I love their unity too. I’ve always admired that they see society as a whole irrespective of religion/caste, etc. Not to mention their contributions to their homelands always amazes me. They are very patriotic people no matter where they live.
