Shias because of their close knit community and ikhlaq. They’re always extremely happy to have me in their mehfils as well. Their Islamic history knowledge is good too.

Bohras because of their close knit community and dedication to their masjid. They go for Iftar to the masjid daily without fail.

I think it was the height of feminism behind birth of Ganesha. His mother Parvati created him without her husband Shiva and not knowing that Ganesha is son of Parvati, Shiva got killed (beheaded) Ganesh and then replaced His head with that of an elephant.

Re: Things you liked about other sects / religions?

True. What i find more fascinating which few in India seem to actually ponder over is the actual deep meaning behind the stories or behind such images. Like the cut head is about getting rid of ego to understand a higher power when it comes knocking on our door etc. Also, the more i look into ancient pakistan the more interesting things i find. Panini | History of Ancient Pakistan One of the greatest Sanskrit grammarians was Pakistani in origin and went by the name of Panini. Also i find the Sufi spirituality of Sindh quite beautiful.

Bohra community: for their discipline, unity and simplicity. the thing i like the msot about them is their way of serving food. they serve food in one big thaal with 7-8 persons to one thaal. all sit on the floor (sunnah) and then limited portions of each dish(if there are more dishes) is served one by one. They sit together and eat together and they never waste food by filling their thaals with excess food. if someone requires more they ask for it and get second serving.

Hindu: their Rakhi Bandhan tradition. oh i just love it. Rakhi bandhan symbolizes the love and “Maan” between brother and sister.

Christians & parsis & shias : for their dedication towards education and welfare in Pakistan particularly.

yes very intriguing

Re: Things you liked about other sects / religions?

Jews: Jews really inspire me. I find them closest to our religion. They have more knowledge about messengers, angels etc than us Muslims as they have each & every detail of it in their books.

Shia: I 100% agree with muqawwee123 on shia’s religious & Islamic history knowledge. I think they have better understanding of religion than others & if you talk to them on religious matters, they have logical reasons to prove that right while I find other sects confused about those things.

Re: Things you liked about other sects / religions?

I agree. When my dad moved to Canada in the late 70’s, his Sikh friend often took him to the Gurdwara for the langar which is open to all. I like that they view everyone as equals despite the religion/race they belong to. It’s a great lesson of humanity in my opinion.

Many gurdwaras feed the homeless here and new immigrants who come with not so much to start a life. A sikh friend also told me that the gurdwaras stay open 24/7. I never knew that and I love their unity too. I’ve always admired that they see society as a whole irrespective of religion/caste, etc. Not to mention their contributions to their homelands always amazes me. They are very patriotic people no matter where they live.

Re: Things you liked about other sects / religions?

exactly! and, rich and poor women in the Kitchen work together while men, irrespective of their social status, serve the food to all together. there isn’t any distinction. rich and poor, old and young, men and women work equally at the Gurdwaras.

Re: Things you liked about other sects / religions?

I am a Muslim, Alhumdulillah. Having said that, I have oodles of respect towards all the religions regardless of their thinking and evil activities. Like I love the wedding style of Christains, love the way hindus celebrate diwali, holi and etc.
Particularly, I like and found Ismaili community to be kind-hearted, decent and well-read. Spent two years of doing my inter in AKHSS and it was worth it. Had so many friends there and all of them were so warm and welcoming it was beautiful.

As I am a sunni muslim, but I love the knowledge and politeness these suni muslims have in them. Even after facing so many hardships these days, not in pakistan but all over the country like in syria, iraq, lebanan, palestines and etc they still have decent amount of tolerance to cope with it. Love them.

Great posts and nice to see all of those answers. Cheers!
