Yes the government knows about that The previous govt of Musharraf had handed reqodiq to a mining company almost free like the company could take 75% back and balochistan would have got 25%. the case is now in supreme court let's see what decisions they make. As far as north waziristan is concerned no one will invest there unless there is peace there

POLIO SURVIVOR

“I have difficulties moving but my passion for education gives me the strength to go to school daily,” says the bright nine-year-old.

“If her passion gives her strength, it is her affliction that gives her focus. A student of Class III, Zaina wants to become a doctor and anti-polio campaigner after finishing school: “I want to complete my matriculation. My favourite profession is medicine and I would like to be an anti-polio worker, so I can prevent other children from falling prey to this disability,” she says with a proud smile on her face.”

Hassan Sadparah, a mountaineer from Gilgit-Baltistan, has successfully climbed Everest.

A veteran mountaineer on Thursday became only the second Pakistani to scale Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, local officials said.
Hassan Sadpara, born in 1963, reached the summit at around 7:30 am (0230 GMT), Manzoor Hussain, President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan told AFP. “He climbed up from the south route and reached the peak from the base camp in three days. He was at the top today at 7.30 am and is now returning back.”

Sadpara is the second Pakistani to conquer the mountain after Nazir Sabir, who reached the summit in 2000, he said.

“We were in touch with him and he told us he hoisted the Pakistan flag at Mount Everest this morning,” said Wazir Jaffar, president of a local mountaineering welfare association.

Hassan Sadparah is the second Pakistani after Nazir Sabir to climb Everest.

He had arranged the required funds to travel to Nepal with the help of President Asif Ali Zardari.

Pakistan and Nepal are home to some of the world’s highest mountains, but poor security has seen fewer and fewer mountaineers from around the world ascend the peaks on Pakistan’s side of the Himalayas.

Around 3,000 people have made it to the top of Everest since Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay first conquered the 8,848-metre (29,028-foot) peak in 1953. The summit season on Everest begins in late April and May when a small window between spring and the summer monsoon offers the best conditions for making the ascent.

There is so much to be proud and thankful about being a Pakistani

  1. This land gave me my identity without which i am nothing. No matter where i go or where i spent the rest of my life, i wl always be known as a Pakistani and i am proud of it.

  2. This country gives me the rights to lead my life as a devout Muslim without being labelled as an extremist and to freely and openly celebrate and enjoy our festivals.

  3. This land gives me security and sense of belonging (apna-pan).

  4. I am proud of our values, morals and unity as Muslims.

  5. I am proud of our people like Imran Khan, Mr.Edhi, Abdus Salam, Our talented singers, Our sportsmen and the list just goes on and on.

  6. Proud of our army for giving us sense of comfort and security that no matter half the world is after us, we can still hold our own

  7. We have so many great artists to be proud of. We are truly a very talented and god gifted nation.

  8. Above all, this land is where my heart and soul belongs and this is where i want to spend all my life and breath my last here too. IA.

Re: Things that make you even more proud of being a Pakistani :)

I was thinking about this very question .... is there anything about Pakistan that I am proud of?

And the answer is a definite no. That's not to say that I'm not proud of my people, my ancestry and our culture and traditions (some of them, not all) - but I don't consider any of that strictly Pakistani. There are a few things but those things pre-date Pakistan and shouldn't be stained by association with this failed nation that is sneered at globally.

I am proud of my parents that were able to escape Pakistan so that they could raise me in a free nation with opportunities. I am proud that I wasn't born in Pakistan, so my place of birth is not a huge red flag on my passport and allows me to travel with ease.

If I were born and raised in Pakistan, I would be like nearly of all my cousins --- fairly ignorant, uneducated due to lack of good schooling (I understand we needed to invest in nukes, rather than educating our populace), married to another cousin (or dreaming of it, yuck), supporting a large family on pittance of a salary, likely working as a near slave/laborer in the middle east or some city in Pakistan or patroling the frontier as a "spy" foot solider....this is the reality of the Pakistan I am familiar with, so what is there to be proud of?

Ask yourself, how many people in the world would if given the chance, choose to take on Pakistani nationality?

There's no use for foolish pride in the face of a dire reality.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but that's just my opinion.
