There is just so much negativity surrounding us … so its very easy to give into despair.
However, There are endless good ppl out there who are struggling everyday and trying to bring a postive change. They are our real heroes, their contribution give a lift to Pakistanis during this rough time.

C’mon let’s share something which will make us even more proud of being a Pakistani :slight_smile: … it could be anything, clips, articles, blogs, photos, videos, letters,statistics, anything about our natural resources, Armed forces, any developments happening in Pakistan or any postive news you come across.
let’s share it with all GS fellows here!!

its could be even about you, your friends/family or any individual or any organization doing something for Pakistan.

Pakistan: The richest country in natural resources!

The country has the second largest salt mine in the world, fifth largest gold mine, seventh largest **copper mine](http://ads.ibryte.com/inline/oneclick/?implementation=playbryte&source=inline&subid=intext&userid=57d63b44-4a9f-4a81-9a0d-a450a40c700f&keyword=copper+mine&trackingid=3d003f46-cdd7-498e-a8d6-394bb8e7e2c4), fifth largest coal reserves, seventh largest wheat and rice production capacity (can be enhanced to be the largest), is eighth in the rankings of fresh water availability with 2,053 cubic meters of water per person in 1995.**

This coal utilization can save four billion dollars by reducing oil import costs. Dr Murtuza Mughal of Economic Watch stated that coal power generation can cost Pakistan Rs 5.67 per unit for power generation while IPPs cost Rs9.27 for the same. Other than coal, Pakistan is also rich in wind and bio resources of energy.

Thar coal reserves have 175 billion tonnes of coal, which is equivalent to 618 billion barrels of crude oil recently informed by VC of The university of the Punjab.

This is more than twice if we compare it with oil reserves of KSA and equal to total oil reseves of top 4 countries.

If like KSA, we utilize about 10 million of it per day, it would suffice for more than 200 years. Not to forget other resources that Pakistan have when compared with KSA. For example, we have largest gold/copper ore deposits at Saindak (Baluchistan) dying to be expoited.

Under the barren mountains of Balochistan and hot sands of Sindh, there is unlimited amount of oil and gas reserves not touched yet. And still further, we have furtile lands of Punjab, ready to feed a population twice as big as we are now, the best irrigation system (waiting for more water reservoirs to enrich it), and the best qulaity cotton and rice. Last but not the least, we have** brave Pushtoons, the vigor of courage that is essential for a nation. We have population, young brains and exploding urban middle class to enrich the intellectual and culture needs of the nation.**

NUST Students Design Pakistan’s First-ever Hybrid Car

“The Devrim II is the first ever Hybrid Car of Pakistan, designed and fabricated by students of NUST using local resources, in 2010. A group of Eleven Engineering students from Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Mechatronics Engineering and Department of Electrical Engineering , named as Pak-Wheelers, from E&ME College of NUST participated in the Shell Eco-marathon Asia in July 2010 with their HYBRID CAR.”
