I am sorry to focus on this topic but really ... the Sun and the Moon are signs of God ... as are the stars ...
The symbol of Islam is our role model Sayyiduna RasoolAllah Muhammad (SAW)
Green and white were favoured by him (SAW)
Black is the colour of the banners from the East
If you look in the archives I had very different views regarding the Crescent and Star symbol especially due to it's association with Masonic symbolism ... In fact the countries which have these symbols on their flags are .... Secular Muslim states ... it's almost as if it is showing that Masonic influence has led to the establishment of that state ... and no question in it every flag that bears this symbol reflects this ... yes ... even Pakistan ...
However, my views have become tempered with time and my initial shock has turned into careful thought ...
Eye4Eye ... if you were charged by a hypothetical Islamic state to create a flag/ a banner for the Muslims ... what would you put on it?
If the Sun reminds us of prayer with it's position in the sky and the Moon reminds of fasting and the months with it's phases ... the stars give us direction to the Qiblah and on our journeys then surely all these have great significance because they all help us with our religious duties ... The favourite colours of our role model (SAW) and those black banners ...
I think there are more important things to get rid of ... the one thing I am trying to get rid of is ... condeming others on impulse or partial knowledge and wisdom. Pray for me.
