Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

Akmoti, that sounds good, I know about haldi dood, so yeah thats one of the things on the list , definitely a very good healing tactic ..
Dry fruits mixed in warm milk? as in crushed and then milk added? or cooked?

didnt know about sooji halwa, thanks so much for mentioning that …

Whats Panjeeri? is this available in Pakistan? perhaps I can get husband to get me some since he is visiting soon :hmmm: what exactly is it? I wonder if its available here in the UK

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

Panjeeri is usually made at home but also available at sweet shops. You can freeze panjeeri too. Check sweet shops in uk or find a desi aunty who can make it at home for you. Lots of desi aunties do home based cookiing upon request/catering etc.

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

^yes add crushed dryfruits n haldi in warm milk n drink…

oh n i couldnt make panjeeri so mom said made sooji halwa with dryfruits mixed in it instead…
panjiri has loads of dryfruits in it n many other ingredients…
check this webpage

its better if you ask someone to bring panjiri from pakistan otherwise make it before your due-date:)

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

sigh. nothings helping me heal. if anything i feel like my tears have gotten worse since delivery. i think i had third degree tears , but the doctor wouldn't say clearly. this bleeding is driving me nuts. i still can't walk normally.

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

mama is adamant abt feeding me yakhnis and milk and juices.

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

Same things CB. that patla shorba of lamb with roti, sooji halwa with nuts and desi ghee, eggs, chai, (basically all that keeps your body warm helps in healing and providing strength).

Do follow the link posted by akmoti. I am going ot take much help from it myself too :k:

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

:hugz: DO you have anyone around for tending and taking care? like mom or mil, someone? are you taking those desi things that help fast? :frowning:

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

Internal wounds.. :konfused:
Ok its going to take some time for your body to heal. I was very active before and after delievery. Just rest and eat good. Everything will heal time pe. Some women get natural tear and some get episiotomy. I think episiotomy takes longer to heal. Hospital will tell you how to take care of your wounds.

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

I got this numbing spray from the hospital for the pain caused by my tears .. I know it’s not a desi totka but I don’t see how desi totkas can make the pain go away :konfused:

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

lol am I the only one who never took any special diet after childbirth.. I even was cleaning and cooking a week after giving birth :smaack:

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

That will probably be me this time around since I’ll be alone :frowning:

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

Me.. I did everything after I had my baby from laundry to cooking to taking him to hospital for check ups for his jaundice. The day I got home I made breakfast, lunch for husband since he was doing night shifts. I think because I was active, my healing time was faster plus when you are busy you don’t think too much about pain and healing ..

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

I wasnt allowed to eat or drink anything except bland yakhni for about 4-5 weeks after my c section (had other issues that needed a surgery 3 weeks later) so I didnt eat any eggs, panjeeri, etc. I healed fine or at least I think so but 10 months later my back still hurts.. I am not sure if things would have been any different if I had eaten well.. but lets just say I am here and happy. But yes I didnt lift anything heavier than the baby plus car seat for about 6 weeks! I had lots of medical appts so I was driving back and forth few times a day after 1 week and it was exhausting!

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

I had a very easy delivery but postpartum was painful!! It took me 5 weeks to completely heal. Here's what I ate the first 4 weeks:

Oatmeal mixed in milk first thing in the morning. Then I had an egg with one toast ( I know I was such a fatty!)
Midmorning: a glass of yakhni
lunch: roti or rice with salan
Midafternoon: warm milk with crushed almonds, pistachio paste. And also had sooji ka halwa.
Dinner: roti or a sandwich.

I had no idea what to eat postpartum but my mom and nani made all this for me and I really think it helped. 5 weeks later I was completely healed with no pain at all. Oh and don't forget to take your prenatals.

Re: Thing that help heal the internal wounds after delivery..

Your body is designed to heal itself. Eat balanced food that is nutritious. Try to get back on your feet sooner than later, but listen to your body. Don't be locked up in a room with your baby all day...be happy and enjoy the baby. New moms can be overwhelmed with this new and huge responsibility but think positive and happy thoughts. When you feel good in your mind, your body heals faster too.

Sound very philosophical but trust me on this. After 2 natural deliveries without any epidurals, I was up and about doing grocery shopping in 7 days post-delivery. Not everyone can do that or needs to do that, but our bodies are very resilient.
