My friend have a bismillah of his son Instead of anything they use pump it up for children and they have a nice arrangement.
Here are some details
Instead of goody bags they have one hersheys bar especially written with some surahs and prayers for children, one CD of quran, one book of duas for children.
They called maulana for recitation first maulana recited ,then an elderly child recite some surah and after that a child himself recite from yasarnal quran.
Their theme was yellow and black ballons with card board kaabba on every table they made it was actually nice when it on table. with yellow table cloths.
At the end maulana gave a lecture 10 minutes for adults.
Every child was wearing a eastern dress boys shalwaar qameez girls ghaagra or choori daar.
Theme parties are fun, but well worth the work you have to put in. Themed invites, food, drinks, decorations (the ambiance must suit the theme), requesting your guests to dress a certain way, the whole nine yards. Otherwise its just an awkward party with the guest wondering why the host and hostess are dressed in costume.
All excellent ideas!
Thanks for contributing to the thread.
We had already planned on special games and prizes for the kids, but the gift idea instead of a loot bag is great.
aww...crap...I wrote the response and hit post.....then browser crashed. forgot to check if it actually made it or not.
so just for you Fraud.....I'm retyping it all.....
That sounds like a good compromise Fraud! I'll have to let it marinate for a while because it will, to a large degree, double the amount of work required on my part....at least as far as the entertaining and catering goes. But it's not a bad suggestion at all.
Keep in mind that we weren't planning on heading directly from the "Bismillah" part to the dance floor.....we did have some games for young and old planned.
But now that I know you're coming fully equipped with a superhero underwear club outfit, I'm gonna rush everything else to see how fast you can strip.
muzna I only said that i will have my club outfit.
nowhere did I say anything about superhero underwear club outfit
so..
either you have been going to some clubs where superhero underwear is an accepted clubwear
or
you are imagining stuff, (tobah astaghfaar etc)
do tell which one it is
PS: yeah ever since cell phones came out superheros have no pace to change, last time i saw superman poor dude was changing in a dumpster with 15 hobos standing around laughing at him.
no need for the astaghfaars dude....I was referring to your hidden club outfit because it was worn "under" hence the "underwear". I certainly wasn't suggesting underwear as in "foundation garments". Is that where you're mind went?? tsk, tsk.
and the reference for the superhero part came from the "quick change" that you were preparing for.......exactly like Superman.
grrrr......having trouble with venue.....can't get the date that we want.....we may have to resort to a desi hall.....yuck.
Ibrahim wants to hold it at an upscale club that we went to for an after party last summer.....it was nice....but nobody is going to let us rent it for a saturday night......
We try to always have a theme.
If we are having over some conservative people then we keep the theme low key and if its a bunch of young people then we go all out. :)
