One of the worst things someone ever said to me was: You are a failure at life. Real success in life does not come from being highly educated or having a successful career; real success comes from forming good relationships.* And you are such a disloyal, awful person that you wouldn’t even be able to keep a husband for longer than a few months.**

*This was from a potential proposal whose parents had been shopping around for girls while their son was only interested in this proposal. So when they went ahead with someone else, I stopped all contact with him. This was his response.

Did it make me stronger? No. Still makes me sad to remember all that was said and done.
