calculating the movement of plates and finding out how the rocks will behave, yani elastic movement, sheer or breaking leading to earthquake are two different things! the first is possible the last IS NOT! so no one can say when earthquake will occur, where, at which depth and with which intensity
btw the collision already occured:p cause india collide with Asia many many dozens of million years ago resulting in the himalaya uprising:)

…obviously as the population on this planet keeps growing and growing any minor natural event is quickly turned into a disaster because almost all places on earth are cramed with people who have no where else to go due to lack of land…unfortunately our planet is not growing at the same pace as human population…
For those who ignore it the global warming of this planet resulting mostly from fossil fuel burning is speeding the hydrological cycle, ie…we can expect more and more frequent and powerfull hurricanes, flooding…but also drought (resulting in more fires)…
so first blame humanity for these “not son natural” disasters…then pray that Allah have mercy on all of us
