The mother has a big impact on everybody. You will see naturally the son looks after the mother and in cases has turned on the father if he feels the mother is threatened.
Unlike the common assumption that people have today human society has not been male dominanted for centuries. It has been male dominated for 4 max 6 centuries. Before that and even today in many cases it is female dominated.
You see men before would not marry 1 woman. They would impregnant many and leave. The family was run by the mother and her sons were her weapons so to speak. Thus a mother with alot of suns was not just a woman but could easily be a war lord or run a kingdom.
Anyway women control families an children. Always have. I am not a parent nor a mother so i don't know how to answer that.
