Re: The way we dress
i wuldnt recommend it cos i know when i went down wid my family, and my sis decided to wear her western outfit while i chose to wore d apna libaas, she had soo many men ogling at her, and she even got touched on her backside - and trust me dats quite common as d bazaars are soo busy dat ppl have to squeeze through alley-ways (gulli) and u wuldnt even know who touched u or wat - so do watch out, apni izzat apne haath hein...
Re: The way we dress
I guess its just the nature of most of the guys there. Even when wearing shalwar kameez these incidents happened and plus I am soo sick of it. I was in Lahore and in Jhelum Cantt when two different groups of guys in both cities stalked me and my cousins to our house...
Re: The way we dress
yeah so dressing "properly" wont protect you completely,t here's always going to be creeps there, but at least if you cover up, ure doing all YOU can to protect yourself, and the sin is on teh guys who touch you, not on you for provoking them.
Re: The way we dress
^exactly.
Re: The way we dress
So, I was just wondering if I wear a dress that ends slightly above my knees in the streets of Lahore/Karachi, is that really bad? I mean, are people over there going to raise eyebrows or ...? I do wear Pakistani clothes but they are mostly sleeveless and is that bad? as I walk down the streets of Fortress or Park Towers? This is the way I dress...Once, I get there I can go buy more of a "modest" type of clothing...
Especially for those of you who live in Pakistan...help me out here please :)
But then again, I have seen people dress like this over there, so is it really a big deal?
if u have any self-respect u'll dress modestly, in pak its best to keep a low profile. dress sensibly, otherwise u'll get unwelcome stares and possibly comments or whatnot
Re: The way we dress
The entire time that I was in Karachi I wore a black abaya with a head scarf. Pretty much a burqa as far as my relatives were concerned.
I don't care how fashion conscious a person may be, when in Rome.....

Smart!
Re: The way we dress
can u send us the pictures of you wearing this stuff so we can get a better idea? ![]()
Re: The way we dress
Why are you so fussy about wearing a burqa?
Re: The way we dress
u dont even hav to wear a burka or abaya or watever its called. decent shalwar kameez with a normal-sized duputta shud be enough.
Re: The way we dress
Sometimes, more is actually less. Cover more and get hasseled less.
Re: The way we dress
if you covered nicely i.e you wear full sleeved shirts etc. no need to wear a burqa
Re: The way we dress
hey CuteSmile you sure are beautiful enough to be seen in minis and ..uh.. stuff in the streets of Pakistan ![]()
Re: The way we dress
Wear as you would like. Dont worry about what others say or think.
Re: The way we dress
Ive seen a lot of girls in jeans and a shawl type thing
Re: The way we dress
Yep. Nothing wrong with that.
Re: The way we dress
Thanks, I know I am beautiful.
Re: The way we dress
