Geo Tv which has become so popular across Pakistan is a great danger for us. Its views and the way it conducts its program only spread secular ideas. At first I was impressed by its outlook and bold ideas, but I am increasingly disliking it. Here is what someone thinks…

May Allah save us from the evil aspects of media. If used well, it can become a great blessing for the ummah, and if used in an evil way, it may destroy our society by spreading of misguidance.
A program which I myslef really dislike is Aalim online. It is enough to misguide a Muslim and a non-Muslim about true Islam.
Geo Tv may have done a good job in some fields but it seems to be spreading more wrong than right. Therefore its main objective is not good. It is owned by Jang Group. Pakistani newspapers and media sell cheap! These are my opinions, you may disagree or agree.
This is what; we Pakistanis are. It is a Pakistani channel. What can we do?

Vectone Urdu (Sky Digital 282) and others part of this network] also spreads secular thought, I was disgusted by one of their programs and the viewers calling in who are not really viewers but people part of their network just backing up what they say.
I just read the article, it seems worse than I thought.
Do Pakistanis not feel shy anymore watching this sort of bakwaas issues being discussed in the company of their parents, sisters etc.?
Shame on people who justify it, it will only increase the problem not solve anything, discussing it out in the open is not going the right way about it.

aik pakistani raised some good points in his article, i personally don't have geo tv but what he wrote about the programme 50 mins' for example literally disgusted me i'm with this guy this is wrong, we r muslims for crying out loud. such programs ko dekhna humein shoba nahin deta or atleast that's wat i think.
C Span(TV channel ) per Condi Rice was asked by some comm of congress about issue of threats in Pak. And she said our banks
have provided loans to some businesses in Pak to start channels.

I haven’t watched this program, but what about “Shadi Online” program? I heard young men and women come to the program and openly discuss about getting married or not. What is this going on?
With all the fanatics running around Pakistan, you would think some secular views would be welcome. People have to realize that there are differnt shades of oppinion in Pakistan, there are secular people there aswell, and you will just have to live with that. If you dont like it, then your free to not watch.
Although ultimately, I dont think Pak needs Secularism... But it does desperately need more tolerance and less hypocricy. If a tv channel can provide that, then we should welcome it, after all its not brainwashing, otherwise you would all be singing its praises.

Yar dakho.... perlay to men yay bata ta chaloon keh men GEO ko koi bohot pasand nahi karta hoon, lakin joo baten yay dikhatay ya batatay han na woo koi bhi aazad media bata sakta ha.
Men aik baat poochoon ga, jab Indian channels aur Indian films logoon kay ghar men chal sakti han... woo bhi khuli aazadi aur fakhar say to yay to sirf aik malumati programme ha sirf.
