If Pak military including the ISI had not played the double games that is now clear that they have been, we could have captured OBL a long time ago; more importantly:
terrorist camps and leaders would have been neutralized without so many soldiers dying
no drone attacks would have been necessary, thus sparing the dozens of civilian collataeral & mistaken damage
US would have saved hundreds of billions in scaled down operations in Afghanistan
Not only Pakistan but Afghanistan would haave also be on a much more peaceful trajectory by now
If only they hadn’t shielded him, lied about it and played double games.
Disgusting.
My apologies to patriotic Pakistanis but this is how I feel.
Re: The true cost of Pak diffidence & obstinacy in the WOT
Politics is dirty. War is ugly. War criminals, be it the ISI, CIA, Bush, Powell, Rice, cannot be touched and are disgusting indeed. What else do you expect in a world of mass deception.

Shielded him? Where is your evidence that they shielded him?
Like Barbie said, politics is a dirty game, and Pakistan is at the heart of much of the worlds politics.
You make it all seem very cut and dry, but the situation is more complex then your simple run down implies.

Osama was not running the camps, even from the so-called reports he was living there for last 5 years without telephone, without internet. Drone attacks were not for "OBL", rather ALQ. Again you are misreading killing of OBL thinking it would've saved hundreds of billions, the WOT is not going to stop, it wouldn't have stopped even if OBL was killed in 2002. US should've listened to Pakistan's demand of sealing borders with Afghanistan that way nobody would've crossed borders to evade capturing. Everything about "peaceful" now is just wishful thinking.
Re: The true cost of Pak diffidence & obstinacy in the WOT
^ WOT is not going to stop because now the terrorist mosnter has grownand spread its wings. Pakistan is squarely to be blamed for this spread of the monster. If they had not lied and had truly worked with NATO to capture OBL right from the beginning this whole thing would have been over in 2002.
Re: The true cost of Pak diffidence & obstinacy in the WOT
Looks like Indians are having a high time.
If Indians are so worried about wasted American dollars, do they have the balls to ask America why did they trained and funded Osama and 1,00,000 others like him?

Again, OBL capture even in 2002 wouldn't have done squat to WOT, ALQ was already a far bigger man-power. Pakistan did ask US to seal border with Afghanistan that would've stopped anyone crossing borders but someone had some other plans.
Re: The true cost of Pak diffidence & obstinacy in the WOT
Stop embarrassing yourself, you sound stupid.
Its also a KNOWN FACT that the Bush administration allowed OBL to escape across Tora Bora. For whatever reason, they Bush admin did not allow special forces to be deployed in hunting OBL.
Re: The true cost of Pak diffidence & obstinacy in the WOT
^ did you read what you posted and quoted? the article is about Bush tactics. That is very different from Pakistan wantonly shielding, funding, training terrorists

is that an explanation or justification for Pakistan shielding OBL?
Re: The true cost of Pak diffidence & obstinacy in the WOT
^ don't you think he wasn't caught this long because Pakistan was shielding him even while going through the motions of collaborating with the US in the search?

You said PAKISTAN IS SQUARELY TO BLAME. Meaning there is no one else that deserves blame.
Bush allowed him to escape in the first place! Infact, its the US that allowed him to fall of their radar in the first place. Al Qaeda is a product of the US policy during the 80's. Yet here you are saying this is all Pakistans fault!
As others have pointed out to you, Pakistan is not responsible for Al Qaeda.
Some quick points...
First, the US wants to stabalize Afghanistan.
Second. The Taliban wont allow this. Has nothing to do with OBL.
Third. Drone attacks arent specifically for Al Qaeda. They are also against Taliban mitlitants. Has nothing to do with OBL.
There is no evidence that anyone shielded OBL. And even if they had, that wouldnt have ended the US fight with Al Qaeda, or the Taliban, because the war isnt all about Osama.
All I can tell you is that you incredibly ill informed and extremely bias. You make yourself look stupid.
Even if they had captured OBL, they would still be fighting in Afghanistan and there would still be Taliban, and there would still be Al Qaeda.

ALSO if USA Airlines simply had "one" armed Marshal on board those flight like most flight had;19 Saudi, Iraqi and Egyptians would not have hit the Twin Towers, commandeering the airplanes with only box cutters!, especially when a year earlier Ramzi Yusuf had told the FBI there was going to be another attack on the Towers!
