Re: The Tourist
Quite enjoyed the recent film by this name.
Angelina Jolie ![]()
Re: The Tourist
I also loved this quote. Completely agree. You’re never going to find a Mr/Miss Perfect, everyone has flaws. Put up or shut up. ![]()

Re: The Tourist
I agree to a certain extent
I this is especially true in unconditional love for example when it comes to family where you will love them no matter what they do.
In romantic love its a little harder, i HATE saying it depends but it really does depend on how bad the bad side is, and what your personal boundaries include or dont include.

I agree, who would even think before surrendering or submitting when you have some like Angelina or Johnny Depp in front?
Re: The Tourist
Agree. No one is perfect. BUT....I do take into consideration whether or not their "bad" habit is present in their current life and if that "bad" habit will effect my relationship with them.
Re: The Tourist
Agree
Re: The Tourist
Agreed 100%.
In family relationships like parents and siblings (and even friends), we shouldn't let go of the person just because they have some bad habit (or develop a bad habit). We need to accept them as they are. We can play our role in supporting them but should just accept them with their complete package.
In marriage relationships, if I am accepting someone to be part of your life, I will be accepting them 100% as they are and not picking and choosing their good habits and leaving their bad habits. Regarding the past, it depends on the extent of complexity of the past and how similar or different is it from my values generally.
Re: The Tourist
Didnt see the movie.
Re: The Tourist
^you should.
Re: The Tourist
i would rather be kept unaware of the past that might hurt and affect my relationship. As for present as well as the future, when I have vowed to be by my husband's side obviously I will, regardless of his goods and bads. No one is perfect. One can only try so a couple should.
Re: The Tourist
yes.
Re: The Tourist
Disagree ... men have two sides ... women have 7 ...:p

don’t mess with me. i’m in a bad bad mood.
Re: The Tourist
Well the quote is erroneous anyway … If there is a good side and a bad side and a past side and a future side at least that makes 4 and if use combinations then we have good past, good future, bad past and bad future … and what about the present side?
It just sounds like good filmy dialogue but it wasn’t written by a philosopher by any stretch of the imagination …

Re: The Tourist
Well on the embracing aspect of it I would say we should embrace the good side and tolerate the bad side ... It is quite dubious to embrace bad things in people.
