The fact that Islam is 1400 years old (a relatively young relgion) isn't near as amazing as the fact that anyone who dares interpret the religion outside of the cultural and traditional interpretation of men from a different place and time, is labeled a non-Muslim.
I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.

No sense in workin hard or making a better life for yourself here, right? God just put us here to be miserable and live off others.

This 'life begins in the hereafter' is one of the biggest cop outs and insults to God I can imagine. As if he is going to put us here to do nothing but be lazy with no other requirements except to worship him. That is an extremely lazy and selfish attitude. God's and yours. Coming back to the original topic, I don't recognize most of the names, which is probably not so bad, considering it will probably imply that I don't associate with them, or alternatively is not great, since this is probably good general knowledge that everyone should know.
Anyway, the list is worded in a very deregatory manner, which is again, a one-way street. I am sure, given enough time and incentive, each of these top-10 "winners" can come up with their own list of 'Top 10 Zealous Muslim Idiots of 2005' with even more nasty stuff. Unfortunate stuff... but this is life.
Anyway, I did recognize the names of Ms Nomani and Amina Wadood. I have never met them but heard a lot of bad things about them, and completely disagree with their interpretation of woman leading the salat. Having said that I consider the issue as a "difference of opinion" and will not resort to name-calling. But thats me. I am sure some others find it much more tempting to insult and smack those with whom they don't agree.
I heard about Naseeb's ISNA meet. Didn't read the article at their Vibes section. Will do later. For obvious reasons, I don't have much in common with Naseeb's crowd (most of them are their to get hitched or so it seems). The main criticism appears to be on the article and he ISNA meet-up. No comments from me on those. However, I think for all the younger muslims growing up in US/Canada/outside the muslim world, there is a real problem of finding suitable spouses. If Naseeb is helping alleviate some of the issues, I think its a good initiative. Whether all they are doing is halal (strictly defined), I reserve my comments. This is all fairly murky grounds anyway.

Differentiate does not mean you go around calling people idiots and claiming that they are to go to the hellfire. And no matter how much we may differentiate between these people, you cannot be absolutely sure that they are unbelievers. How can you label people that way? Do you not make a million mistakes during the day? Or are you a perfect muslim?
The person who wrote that article is not GOD and everyone who says that these people should go to hell are not GOD. How dare anyone make the assumption that these people are going to go to hell? God does not give us that right.
What happened to mercy? and intentions?
Some people seem so bent on sending people to hell, it makes me very thankful that only GOD can decide who gets into heaven and who gets into hell because if man did, i get the feeling many more people would go to hell.
In the end, no one is going to get to heaven without God's mercy.

The article is funny, that's that...Who cares who wrote it or how it was written...
And the article may be derogatory in nature but it's not personally insulting...All that's being made of here is the actions of these people which any Muslim knows is contrary to what Islam is or is meant to portray, not the people themselves...
All in all the article just brings to light many of the prominent 'Mozlems' (Not Muslims) to light whose ideologies harm a lot of us and who spread more hate and misundertandings about Islam and Muslims than anyone...
