Older one (8 years old daughter): when she perceives her up coming comment as slightest of the criticism, she starts with 'dad, I dont want to hurt your feelings but …". I just adore her politeness,
Younger one (almost 5 now): when she does not want to sleep with me, she says that dad actually your face is too crunchy (referring to my late day facial hair) and it bothers me when you kiss me.
Re: The thing that you totally love about your kid(s)
oh so many things but the thing I love most these days are the tight hugs and kisses that I get along with the barney 'I love you' song (well whataver he sings of it)
cannot have enough of these.

My little one radiates heat. I love sleeping next to her in the winter time because it's like having my very own soft personal heater.
our little one gets hot too soon too early and kicks the comforter away and if I am sleeping next to her. she kicks my part of comforter away too. I usually yell at her for that :D

i love that my eldest has encyclopedic abilities and i like showing it off in front of my inlaws, he knows all about dinosaurs, he can tell the name/brands and model of any car you show him and recently he has memorized the map of the world and animal atlas so you just name a country and he'd draw the map and tell you what animals inhibit that land, he amazes me and i love that.
middle one is just funny and youngest is just too cute.

It's funny you mention encyclopaedic abilities. I am like that. People ask about the most random places/things and I know them. I guess I like reading random literature or articles.

Except I'm a 21 and he is half my age. How versed is he in history? At his age they must be learning about the Great War?
I love history my favourite subject.
He'll be 7 in few months inshallah. He's not studying History as a subject yet but he has several story books. he loved his father's Atlases and Encyclopedias so I bought him few of those in children's version. Right now he's interested in trees and planets.
