It’s ‘magic / sihr’ in simple words. No matter how much the so called “believers” try to justify these sinful acts, it is magic / sihr. All muslims know what place magic / sihr’ holds in Islam so the same goes for such practices whether by muslims or nonmuslims. Regardless of the religion of such ‘believers’, they put their trust in & ask for help from supernatural powers other than God which is sinful:

There are too many sufi muslims or families with sufi backgrounds who do not consider these acts of shirk as wrong as their forefathers also did not. Reciting Allah “HU” by a crowd of sufi muslims in short regular intervals with force on ‘HU’ is just one small example of how they merge such forms of shirk with Islam. Majority are ignorant as they believe they are calling out to ‘Allah’. And they would argue with anyone telling them their acts are wrong. In reality, they are calling out to some supernatural power, not Allah as this specific way of enchanting the word “HU” by uttering it together with ‘ALLAH’ DOES NOT make it any Islamic. It still is a sinful practice but it would take an unbiased brain to understand. Too many muslims believe it to be ISLAMIC… Some calling the ‘Noori’ ilm as Islamic too. It is NOT any different from the usual magic no matter what you name it.
