I am very much in favor of women’s rights. and that women should be liberated. Their voices and opinions heard and accounted for. They should hold an hold decision making positions, and being the gentler gender (generally) they should be dealt with gently. At the turn of the century, women were largely discriminated against, and a recognition of their rights was much in need.
**HOWEVER… **
The West has a unique way of accomplishing things, and the masses, in general, get carried away with their pursuits. It has gone a little too far in the fight for women’s rights (thanks to feminist women and sissy men), that the law, media and the social norms never stop showing their bias against men. Please share your thoughts!

You say they are a "gentler gender" and yet you say they should hold decision making positions. How is a sensitive person able to make a sound decision without their emotions getting in the way? I am totally against this feminist movement because it has no real purpose other than to put women as "equal" as men, in reality this only leads to greater problems.
Note: not saying men and women are not equals... it's only when we put man made "equality" is when balance of life is disturbed. Why not put in place the equality that Allah has introduced.

Thats what I say, enough is enough. I can write a book in the favor of this thread but then again I think there are others who can do it better...Women are liberated more than what Allah ordered, compare pre-Islamic women with 'Aaj Ki Aurat'

I dont like how men also dont have equal rights to their children in a divorce .... custody is usually given to women even if they are cracked out halfwits...
BUT the comment about women getting jobs for looking better - i think that both genders get the job if they are good looking while their competitors are average or not so good looking. Many studies done on this topic..

In US, The federal Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) - an act that primarily deals with domestic violence, refuses to acknowledge that men could be victims of domestic violence as well. The violence committed by women is..
i) either de minimus (it could not have hurt the man) or
ii) self-defense (she reacted in response to a (presumed) threat)
All it takes a woman is to call 911 and without much inquiry into 'who is at fault', the man would get arrested.

just do a quick search on google on domestic violence and male victims and u will find tons of info. The biggest issue is that the percentage of men who are abused who report it is much lesser than percentage of abused women who report. part of it is the culture..men are not supposed to be beaten up by women ya? and then the laws are skewed in many cases as pointed out above.

I think that the women's rights movement went too far by and large as an overreaction to the massive amount of change that was needed, particularly in the west. People forget that just over 100 years ago a woman was considered the property of her husband, and was not permitted to hold assets in her own right.
There has been a backlash in recent years towards the women's rights movement by educated, professional women who have realized that it is simply not possible to "have it all". Like most movements (such as the civil rights movement), feminism has gone through extremes, but is moving back to the center.

If the cops are called and both man and woman are claiming that the other one has beaten her/him, they normally take woman's words and consider her "victim" (and general public think the same) :(
