I always wondered how anyone could possibly be proud of their nationality/race? I mean, come on with nationality you haven't done anything to achieve it, you just have to be born on a peice of land, between those borders. Or even if you gain another nationality by living there for a few years, is it really a major accomplishment?
The race thing is even more stupid. You gonna be proud of being born a skin color that is simply down down genetical inheritance ?
I don't really think you should be proud , but if your gonna be proud of anything is should be for a talent you carve out or knowledge you gain which can be used to the benefit of others. I.E becoming a sportsman, education and career accomplisments.

Why do people always make a link between the pride and the culture or the past of a civilization etc ? I am proud of what I do by myself, what my hands do not of what people before me done ! Have we chosen our origin ? Our family ? Our country ? All cultures are a richness but talking of "pride" when we talk about the origins is illogical !
When I see words like "pure", "pride" it reminds me the Hitlerian theories...
And about Islam, too much nationalism can be harmful for the Islamic Umma which doesn't recognize any form of nationalism . Others Muslims from others nations must not feel excluded by an exacerbated nationalism .
