There are lots of things that we inherit, but that doesn't stop people from having a sense of pride in it. You might have pride in the way you look, a particular feature maybe, although you had little control in that regard. It's all about balance. There's nothing wrong with feeling great about identifying with something. However, if pride turns into arrogance, prejudice, discrimination, that's unacceptable. Anything in excess/extreme is harmful and a TURN-OFF!
