We are following Bhutto and Zia's vision of a Pakistan instead of following Quaid e Azam's and Allama Iqbal's vision. Please ffs why can't Pakistan become a secular and moderate country like Turkey.

Re: The stupidest blasphemy charge!!!
Sorry its not a few idiots. Its vast swathes of Pakistani society that are like this. Only the Urban elite might be opposed to this but go to rural villages and you will see wide spread support for such laws.
JI/JUI supporters ARE few idiots, look at the election results if you don't believe, you are free what YOU want to believe. JI/JUI are the parties who wanted this law.
There are idiots all over the world who do idiotic things. But its that reaction to those idiots from the general society which differs.
So what was general reaction to stupidity of hot-coffee case? Did public come out on street to banish this law?
The fact of the matter is not nearly enough people have opposed such cases but in fact larger rallies have been held to support the Hudood Laws thats why since these ridiculous laws were enacted in the 1980's they have yet to be removed.
To those who hold this law dear have a political platform hence they can pull rallies behind it while opponents don't have a clear platform so rallies aren't there but very likely will be there soon or there will be modifications to the law such that idiots like these can't abuse it.
Re: The stupidest blasphemy charge!!!
No proof of sacrilege found in Hyd case: Mirza
Updated at 0300 PST Tuesday, December 14, 2010
KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza Monday said that the complaint of blasphemous act, reportedly done by a medical doctor in Hyderabad district, has been investigated, and declined to find any concrete evidence of sacrilege during the investigation, Geo News reported.
He said no aspect of blasphemy was found during the arguments that took place between a doctor and a medical representative. The matter is only about exaggeration and misunderstanding, he maintained.
In a statement from Sindh Home Ministry, Zulfiqar said Islam is a religion of peace and harmony, which discourages extremism, fanaticism and teaches intolerance, urging faithful to remain peaceful and express calmness in dealing with such cases.
He appealed to people not to exaggerate such unintentional acts as it could lead to extremism and panic in society.
On the issue, the ministry has also exchanged factual information with the religious clerics (Ulemas) in Hyderabad, he said, revealing that they have assured government and police of cooperation after reviewing facts associated with the incident.
The case is being thoroughly investigated whose report will surely abolish misinformation hovering over the issue.
It is pertinent to mention here that as per reported details, during an argument between a doctor and a medical representative by the name ‘Mohammed Faizan’, the doctor, after being notified many a time about the name ‘Mohammed’ written on the visiting card of medical representative, tore apart the card and binned the same.
Later, Mohammed Faizan, complainant in the case, lodged an official complaint with a local police station in Hyderabad.
Re: The stupidest blasphemy charge!!!
^^ There should be case against Mohammed Faizan for Blasphemy ..Period!!!
Re: The stupidest blasphemy charge!!!
I remember once Mohd Azhar was protested by muslim clerics for giving his autograph on a shoe during a promotional event for that particular shoe launch.
I think if people really dont want the name to end up like that then they should not name their kid as Mohammad. If your kid grows up to be a gunda or rapist then it is a disgrace to the name. also if his friends curse him then it gives bad name to the name of the prophet.
It should be the person with the name charged for mishandling the name.
In this case the card holder should be charged for keeping the name of the prophet in his wallet and hence touching his ass all the time.

Re: The stupidest blasphemy charge!!!
Shamraz,
Thats all and good but the point is the case should not have gone this far at all. The thanedar should have given a danda on the complainant ass and send him home.
Also according to the following editorial in daily times http://dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2010\12\14\story_14-12-2010_pg3_1...the complainant with his other pious buddies beat up the doctor and the doctor had to apologize for his unholy act.
**The issue was resolved between the parties when the doctor apologised, although not before Faizan and his friends had reportedly roughed up the doctor. However, the intervention of some clerics resulted in a blasphemy charge against the accused, who was then arrested.
**
If it were not so tragic, the case of a blasphemy-accused doctor would have made for comic reading. Reportedly, Dr Naushad Valiyani threw the business card of a medical representative “which had his full name, Muhammad Faizan”, in a dustbin. Mr Faizan then launched a blasphemy complaint against the doctor. The absurdity of the charges against Dr Valiyani exposes the nature of the draconian Blasphemy Law, which can be misused for any purpose under the sun. General Ziaul Haq left this country with a minefield in the shape of this law, which lends itself to abuse. The case of Dr Valiyani is just one of the many cases where the complainant is crossing all lines of common sense. ‘Muhammad’ is a popular name over the Muslim world. To say that the doctor committed blasphemy just because he threw a business card that had ‘Muhammad’ written on it is ridiculous. The issue was resolved between the parties when the doctor apologised, although not before Faizan and his friends had reportedly roughed up the doctor. However, the intervention of some clerics resulted in a blasphemy charge against the accused, who was then arrested.
Since we are so fond of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), why not invoke PPC 153 A in cases where false accusations are made? According to PPC 153 A (a), whoever “by words, either spoken or written, or by signs, or by visible representations or otherwise, promotes or incites, or attempts to promote or incite, on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, caste or community or any other ground whatsoever, disharmony or feelings of enmity, hatred or ill-will between different religious, racial, language or regional groups or castes or communities” shall be fined and punished with imprisonment for a term that may extend to five years. Thus, Muhammad Faizan should be charged with incitement against the innocent doctor.
In another incident, three alleged blasphemers in Karachi — Syed Raheel Masood Wasti, Samreen Masood and Zafar Iqbal — denied desecrating the Holy Quran. As per their statement, they were not in the house when their illiterate maid accidentally threw out some pages of the Quran after cleaning the house. They have expressed fear for their lives and that they can be falsely persecuted under the Blasphemy Law. This is yet another example of the way the mullahs use this law. In almost all the cases under the Blasphemy Law, the accusations are mala fide. The accusations are based on personal vendetta, blackmail, settling scores, property disputes, etc. It is therefore beyond comprehension why the mullah brigade is threatening to launch a movement, Tehreek Namoos-e-Risalat (TNR), in case any amendments are made to the Blasphemy Law, except that it serves their political agenda of keeping the country hostage to their fulminations. This flawed law should be repealed in the first instance, and if that is not possible because our politicians have yet to find the courage to defy the blackmail of the religious groups, at least the amendment bill by Ms Sherry Rehman should be considered seriously. Islam is a religion of peace but the fundamentalists have hijacked our religion and given new interpretations to serve their vested interests. The religious right is committing the greatest blasphemy by distorting the name of Islam. When the British introduced the Blasphemy Law, it was done to maintain harmony between all religious communities in the Indian subcontinent. Ziaul Haq’s Blasphemy Law has done the exact opposite. It has made the religious minorities more insecure in this ‘land of the not-so-pure’. When a state legalises persecution of minorities, it is time to change the laws.
Pakistan can never progress if it chooses to espouse the values of the Dark Ages. Let us not be afraid to challenge the religious extremists just because they threaten us with ‘dire consequences’. We have been held hostage to their absurdities for decades. It is high time we rolled back Zia’s legacy and moved forward towards a progressive, secular and democratic Pakistan. *
Re: The stupidest blasphemy charge!!!
.
take it seriously , some day you may face the music of la blasphama d’ hha ha hi hi
note my advice on your note book , crux of matter is
" never throw any visiting card in dustbin, bury them with full honours"
Re: The stupidest blasphemy charge!!!
^^ There should be case against Mohammed Faizan for Blasphemy ..Period!!!
contrary to this we should be thankful to the janab mohammad (pbuh) faizan sahib that he agreed to settle the score amicably by only beating that wreached doctor simultaneously getting apology , and agreeing not to pursue the case for the death penalty to the said doctor.
faizan sahib should be honoured for upholding the sanctity and prestige of blasphemy and hudood law , only god knows how much prestige of islam has been affected.
Re: The stupidest blasphemy charge!!!
Law is law and should be applied with the full force of the state unless it is repealed by the parliament.

You are obviously not a muslim- thats why you are making fun of this law. This law and hudood ordinance were created to protect muslims' rights in Pakistan. Pakistan was created in the Islam and blasphemy law is to punish anyone who insults greatest human being who ever walked the planet- Prophet Mohammad(sallallahu alayhi wasallam). Islam is very very very very important to the well being of Pakistan and Pakistanis.
Re: The stupidest blasphemy charge!!!
An excellent article by Yasser Hamdani in Daily Times. Since Qadianis are declared a separate religion, all mullahs ridiculing Mirza Ghulam Ahmad need to be charged, prosecuted and put on death row. Same goes for mullahs attacking any other minorities in Pakistan.
http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2010\12\20\story_20-12-2010_pg3_4
VIEW: Double standards of our Kharijites —Yasser Latif Hamdani
Every time the state prints a passport form or form for an identity card describing the founder of the Ahmedi faith as an impostor, liar and false prophet, it violates 295-A
The Second Amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan, 1973 declares that, for the purposes of the law and constitution, Ahmedis are non-Muslims. Specifically, the Ahmedis have been mentioned as a non-Muslim community along with other faiths. It therefore follows that the Ahmedi faith is a separate, recognised religion of a class of citizens of Pakistan known as Ahmedis under our constitution, which protects freedom of religion, and law, which protects all classes of citizens in Pakistan in principle against violence and persecution. If there was any doubt about the legal position of Ahmedis, 298-C of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) crystallises their position as non-Muslims.
Now let us review the blasphemy laws of Pakistan, which are always used to persecute minorities but never protect them. 295-A for example says, “Whoever, with deliberate and malicious intention of outraging the religious feelings of any class of the citizens of Pakistan, by words, either spoken or written, or by visible representations insults or attempts to insult the religion or the religious beliefs of that class, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to 10 years, or with fine, or with both.”
One may also refer to 153-A of the aforesaid PPC which says, “Whoever (a) by words, either spoken or written, or by signs, or by visible representation or otherwise, promotes or incites, or attempts to promote or incite, on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, caste or community or any other ground whatsoever, disharmony or feelings of enmity, hatred or ill will between different religious, racial, language or regional groups or castes or communities; or (b) commits or incites any other person to commit, any act which is prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony between different religious, racial, language or regional, groups or castes or communities or any group of persons identifiable as such on any ground whatsoever and which disturbs or is likely to disturb public tranquillity; or (c) organises, or incites any other person to organise, any exercise, movement, drill or other similar activity intending that the participants in any such activity shall use or be trained to use criminal force or violence or knowing it to be likely that the participants in any such activity will use or be trained to use criminal force of violence, or participates, or incites any other person to participate, in any such activity intending to use or be trained to use criminal force or violence, or knowing it to be likely that the participants in any such activity will use or be trained to use criminal force or violence against any religious, racial, language or regional group or caste or community or any group of persons identifiable as such on any ground whatsoever and any such activity for any reason whatsoever causes or is likely to cause fear or alarm or a feeling of insecurity amongst members of such religious, racial, language or regional group or caste or community, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to five years and with fine.”
Now, admittedly, under the law and constitution of Pakistan, the Ahmedi community is a religious community and class unto itself, which should, in principle, enjoy the same protections of law and constitution as any citizen of Pakistan must enjoy. Clearly then it follows that the founder of their faith, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, also enjoys the privilege of 295-A, and to defile his memory ought to be punishable by incarceration extending up to 10 years. It is also clear that any incitement against Ahmedis amounts to an incitement against a group of citizens of Pakistan defined by its religious beliefs, which is punishable under Pakistani law.
The foremost guilty party is the state itself. Every time the state prints a passport form or form for an identity card describing the founder of the Ahmedi faith as an impostor, liar and false prophet, it violates 295-A. The next guilty party is every mullah and his mother-in-law. If Pakistan applied its laws justly and fairly, every ignorant mullah using the pulpit to abuse Ahmedis and inciting people to violence against them would be behind bars for combined sentences of 15 years at the very least.
Instead, the violators of the PPC, like the ignorant Alim Online, are hailed as great scholars. Another ignorant mullah announces prize money for the death of a poor hapless woman incarcerated under clearly false charges through a dubious and unfair process and no one has the courage in this country to try him. Our great and mighty chief justice who has a penchant for suo motu notices has yet to invoke 153-A against the said mullah.
No sir, in Pakistan the law does not protect the weak, helpless and marginalised. It persecutes them. Ignorant and hypocritical mullahs have made a mockery of the constitution, law and process in Pakistan. Justice Sardar Muhammad Iqbal, in his famous judgement in Kaikaus v. President of Pakistan PLD 1976 Lah 1608 (which my colleague Saad Chaudhry was kind enough to point me towards), had described the petitioners as Kharijites. Thirty-four years later it seems Pakistan is not an Islamic state or a Shia state or a Sunni state. It is now a Kharijite state held hostage by our Kharijite mullahs who are hell bent on destroying the rest of us and, in the process, Pakistan itself.
What depths will we not fall to? Could the contrast be any greater to our founding principles? At the height of the Pakistan Movement, Jinnah refused to endorse a cover for Time magazine on its editor’s request because it was derogatory and insulting “to the Hindu Community”. Our nation state was built on positive values, not hatred for others. Yet we now seem to call into question its very existence by our actions. Incidentally, questioning the creation of Pakistan is also punishable under Section 123-A of the PPC, though it has never stopped the PPP from sharing power with the JUI-F, a party whose famous antecedent Maulana Mufti Mahmood, the posthumous godfather of the Taliban and bigoted forces, historically denounced the creation of Pakistan.

Good article. Thanks for posting. If only our secular and progressive members of society had the courage to fight for whats right, the way the rabid religous fanatics do for their false ideology.
Man charged with Blasphemy for throwing away business card
This is getting out of control:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/40628977/ns/world_news-south_and_central_asia/
KARACHI, Pakistan — Pakistani authorities have arrested a doctor on suspicion of violating the country’s contentious blasphemy law by throwing away a business card of a man who shared the name of Islam’s prophet, Muhammad, police said Sunday.
The blasphemy law has been widely criticized by human rights groups following the case of Asia Bibi, a Christian woman sentenced to death last month for insulting Islam. Critics say the law should be amended or repealed because it is often used to settle grudges, persecute minorities and fan religious extremism.
Naushad Valiyani, a Muslim doctor in the southern city of Hyderabad, was arrested Friday after a complaint was lodged with police alleging his actions had insulted the Prophet Muhammad, said regional police chief Mushtaq Shah.
The case began Friday when Muhammad Faizan, a pharmaceutical company representative, visited Valiyani’s clinic and handed out his business card. He said when the doctor threw the card away, Faizan went to police and filed a complaint that noted his name was the same as the prophet’s.
Shah said police were investigating whether Valiyani should be charged with blasphemy.

So Guys now tell me How many times in Pakistan history a religious Muslim was Prime Minister or President ? Ayoub, Bhutto’s family, Nawaz Sharif, Musharaf were not religious Personalities who ruled over Pakistan but still we are crying on Islam that bcoz of it we were failed. Mullah’s never said you to stop making Dams, Factories, Industries or making atomic bombs! So why we are spending time just to blame them who never ruled Pakistan.
