The Secret Life of Mr. Jinnah

On Worldlink TV Channel 9410 on Dishnetwork and 375 on DIRECTV.

A thoughtful look at Pakistan’s founder, Mohammed Ali Jinnah, a man who has long been considered only in the shadow of Mahatma Gandhi. Through archival footage and interviews, the documentary offers a more balanced portrait of Jinnah and of the division of British India into two separate sovereign states. Jinnah, it argues, was not a hard-line Muslim separatist, but an agnostic politician and lawyer who preferred tactics and legality to the populism of Gandhi. Jinnah is portrayed as having been opposed to dividing the sub-continent until he realized that Gandhi’s dream for an India united in independence, with Hindu and Muslim living in harmony, could not be achieved. Produced by Australian Channel 4 to mark the 50th anniversary of the creation of the states of India and Pakistan.

World Link TV

I am so glad you posted this!!!

Saw it, it was pretty good, apart from that idiotic congress muslim leader calling jinnah a dictator...

Guys ... it is being shown on Link TV. I am recording it!!! :D

Ahmedjee, you've a very impressive memory.

I did this huge ass project on him once, it won stuff :roman: (just adding that)

I reckon he’d be pretty ashamed of what pakistan has made itself

I recorded the whole hour of it and was one of the best documentries about him.

Almost a movie from the book 'The sole spokesman' ...

It will be repeated at 7 PM EST tonight and then again 1:00 PM EST tomorrow.

Whats the Link TV channel?

Is it the same channel on Dish as in the first post... 9410? Aweful timing. I will just DVR it.

I know. Although the channel is out of San Fran but most of the timings are catered towards the East Coast folks.

Dishnetwork Channel 9410. Click on the link in the initial post.

that is because the rest of the country is gay

The author of "The Sole Spokesman" is Ayesha Jala, right? The only book I have ever read about Jinnah was Hector Bolitho's >>Jinnah-Creator of Pakistan<<. BTW, why do you consider it the best documentary about Jinnah?

Aejaz bhai, I think it's on Opium.

Seriously, I detest cable. I am a dish guy.

Faisal, click on the LINK in my first post on this thread. Clcik on Schedule.

I was thinking.,....It is a good program, but aren't we too eager for others to tell us who and what Jinnah was? Just my 2 cents..

islamabad, it's always good to hear what others have to say about us. Unless you only want to hear what you want to hear.

^ he was Indian not an arab.

Not sure which time zone you are following, but that schedule link just confirms that it was shown twice on August 4.. first at 7 am and then at 1 pm (both times EDT). So, not sure where you got that 1 pm tomorrow (August 5th???).
