THE ROCKY TRACT

Why are you a Muslim ?

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

Cause my parents are.

Cause my parents are.

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

Because I was born one... to muslim parents... then I lost Islam and goofed around for 19 years of my life... and then I found it again when I grew enough brain cells to make some sane choices...

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

Same as a lot of other people here. My parents are Muslims, Alhamdo Lillah and I have been blessed to grow up learning and practising the beautiful teachings of Islam and its meanings. I'm so proud of my faith, nothing will ever, ever want me to change/convert and I will be prepared to die for my faith. I don't mean attaching bombs to myself and kiling or maiming innocent people but if I was being tortured to renounce my faith or die, I would rather die.

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

and you never had the urge to question it ?

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

tell us more about it .... how did you find it?

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

Like everyone else said, grew up in the environment with Muslims around so it was more familiar and I suppose makes sense. Although, I haven't studied it in detail and I may not know all the issues inside out but so far it has always felt right so the questioning wasn't really part of it.

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

Never had the urge or reason to question Islam.

As far as I am concerned, according to the Qu'ran and the 2nd chapter, ALIF LAAM MEEM, ZAALEY KAL KETABO LAREY BAFI. 'This is the perfect Book and there is no doubt about it.'

Allah has given us the perfect religion. End of.

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

But before his book - Allah comes into the picture - Muslims respect Quran as they believe it is made up of Allah's words ...

how did you get Allah at first place ?

how come you start believing his book before you develop a firm belief on him ?

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

so in another nutshell - you feel you just got lucky ?

like what felt right ? elaborate please ...

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

^ hm..that's a tough one. Perhaps I did get lucky. I think sometimes the more you question the more confusing things become.

As for 'felt right', it's hard to put it in words. I suppose what I was trying to say was that the rules, the dos and donts of religion have made sense so it felt right to follow them and perhaps that's why the questioning wasn't an issue.

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

^ then I'd assume you'd go back to square one and question whether you do believe in a higher being, in the signs around you and then you'd get into the scriptures and the different beliefs/relgions.

The one line that always sums it up for me personally is from the naat 'koi to hai jo nizaam-e-hasti chala raha hai'

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

but if he doesn't want you it question it - why has he given us the wisdom ( Aqal-o-shaooR) ?

he surely want us to question things and recognize him through the process ....

I dont think he encourages his creation following himself blindly .....

If he wants a creation without Aqal , ability and willingness to question - he would have not created us ....

He has Angels long before us ....

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

Agree with you on that, from my limited knowledge He s.w.t does want us to question, to inquire rather than just following things as a ritual. I was referring to the questioning for me personally.

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

Because i was meant to be one and Alhumdolillah i am glad i am a muslim.

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

meh.. that's a bit personal. I'm sure you already know from my blogs. The rest prolly don't care to know.

Re: THE ROCKY TRACT

Not when we have personalities like Ahl al-Bayt (as).
