The right Way

Ever since I read that the consitiution of Pakistan has the clauses to differentiate its citizens based on religion I’ve had this itch to help the so called minorities. What is the proper way of going about requesting that a change be made to the constitution and the clauses be taken out. I am serious. I have president Musharraf’s email address that he gave me when I met him once in NY. But I’d rather approach this in a proper way. Can a fellow guppy help me with this issue.

Re: The right Way

state doesnt have a specific different law for minorities on basis of religion. oh
there is one I know about alcohal consumption. non muslim can buy and consume it legelly but Muslims cant. (though many do it under cover)
and thats to make sure their right is protected.
similar to this non muslim kids have choice to read "Ethics" when all other has to read compulsary Islamic education.

some law are for protection of their rights. from both above examples you can think if both of these implemented no matter what then it could become voilation of basic rights.

sure the basic law should be same for everyone. regardless of religion, race, color or
ethinicity. and they are same.

but you have every right to do what you think is right.
other question do you really think govt of pakistan or president really give a proper consideration? hope they do.

Re: The right Way

mushie has the power to change the constitution.. he cud give it a try

Re: The right Way

Mush can't tie his shoe laces without getting an approval from the ISI let alone changing the Constitution; Specialy when it does not benifit the Army. Political and religious disharmony in Pakistan helps the Army keep their grip on government. Not that I have anything against the Army itself. However, you can't be sure when you will be stabbed in the back.

Unfortunately, the mullah element has well engrossed itself within the Army. Pakistan will always be in the grip of the Mullahism. It's a shame. The people need to educate themselves and debate the constituion. It is not the word of God. Although we might have incorporated the word of God in there for our benefit.

Ignorence breeds Ignorence. Education is the key. Not reciting the Quran without learning the true meaning. Not something being drummed into ones head with the meaning changed around for ones own benefit.

Re: The right Way

^^ Well thanks for the lecture Halaku_Khan (Halak kar diya yaar lecture deh kar). But my Qusestion was what is the right way to proceed to change the constitution, which your post missed by about 100 miles.

Re: The right Way

read between the lines, Oh! might one.
Education, persiverience and patience.

Re: The right Way

H_K: Explain how ^^ will change the constitution. I want to change it now, the Qoum can get educated at their own pace.

Re: The right Way

Do you want the proper way or the paki way?

Re: The right Way

Proper way. But now I am curious about the paki way. BTW I am serious about this, I really want to try.

Re: The right Way

Mushy is the biggest mullah of all....

Re: The right Way

^ I am no fan of any dictator but atleast Musharaf has not used his guns for personal wealth, depravities and aggrandizement. Doesn't make him a saint but unless sufficient number of Pakistanis grow up mentally and mature to recognize their true interests (as opposed to following misplaced religious dicta, misplaced pride of anti_india, misplaced value of feudal honor), how will other true leaders emerge?

Re: The right Way

I can vouch for Mush being no Mullah. He might have to please the mullah element under certain circumstances now and then though.

As far as my enlightened friend verizon is concerned, there are no quick fixes here, neither does anyone have a majic lamp. You want changes! Start with yourself. You can't do it sitting here in the comforts of your home far away from trouble. Take a start in the hills of Hazara, the ones you are most certainly familiar with. As a start, try and explain to a Hazarawal brother what the constitution is. The answer you'll get is one you're most familiar with, "Aaghan laas ooh."

Re: The right Way

P.S:
You want answers, you can’t handle answers. Cause it’s all talk and no show.

:nach:

Re: The right Way

^^ I am glad you didn’t graduate from my alma mater, or I 'll have you repeat from kindergarten till you understand plain english. No need to get personal about Hazara, I know you love 'em too overlooking the wonderful hill of sheikhulbandi.
Once again what are the steps one should take to change /ammend the constitution of Pakistan.
Not asking about education system and emotions here.
:jhanda:

Re: The right Way

P.S When in doubt read the original thread.

Re: The right Way

Getting personal here aren’t we. It seems you need to change your call sign from Verizon to PTCL(Pakistan Telecommunication Limited) “Can’t hear at all.”

If you mean direct steps, I believe the course of action would be passing a bill in the National Assembly and then onto the Senate for approval that might be a start. I guess you have to go to our Assemblyman for that and put it up for vote.

But I think you missed the point all over again.

:nuch:

Re: The right Way

Ok thanks let me start writing a letter. I'll post it here before sending it to Assemblyman. BTW who is the one representing Hazara?

Re: The right Way

^ You can find the info here at the link below. NA 17–19 covers the Abbotabad Haripur area.

Re: The right Way

^^Holy Smokes!!!!! That took a while to digest. But they'll hear me soon. BTW thats excellent information.

Re: The right Way

The represantative from NA11 Abbottabad is Mr. Amanullah Khan Jadoon, currently Federal Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas.

He's not know for speaking up in the Assembly too much. He's been in the NA a few times and has not spoken more than 10 sentences.

Good Luck!

P.S. With whats going on in Balouchistan. He's got lot's to worry about.
