The right to bear arms

Re: The right to bear arms

But not every one who has a gun can fire .. this again reminds me a Memon merchant fella , who once got robbed and when People asked ' how did it happen when you had a gun '

he replied ' well I hid it well so they can't take it with my money and mobile

Re: The right to bear arms

The political agents for FATA region exercised more control over the affairs of the tribes than a existing IG police in a province is enjoying today. Statistics can be looked up, all you need to do is to read up some history of the then prevalent political system there.

Re: The right to bear arms

This exactly is my point, a gun in the hand/s of a criminal with a clear intention is much more violent than in the hands of a common man with intention of defense, but at the same time the perception of imminent danger is not equally strong among all who carry gun for that purpose.

Re: The right to bear arms

Those are not the right answers to my questions , phir bhee aapka dill rakhnay ko maan laytay hain.
I have lived closer to that area and know the culture , traditions, customs and I am sharing what I know from my own observations.:chai:
Street crimes , like robberies , burglaries etc were and are for sure very rare but murders and shootings do happen on petty differences.

Re: The right to bear arms

I think the fact that guns are legally and illegally so easily available, has desensitized society. Using a gun to threaten or harm someone doesn't phase people anymore - human life itself has lost value.

Carrying and possessing a gun isn't merely saying that I have the right to defend myself, it goes hand-in-hand with the idea of "I have the right to use the gun to serve my personal interests - whether that is to defend myself or to kill someone for some other gratuitous purpose." You can't separate out why a person will use a gun - that's personal and subject only to their conscience.

Re: The right to bear arms

I always appreciate nice gestures.

A gun for the purpose of “defense” is not intended against a war like situation. Like I said before a crime against an individual is considered a crime against a tribe and sometimes the situation can slip out of control.

Re: The right to bear arms

Oye mairee jaan day totay , that is what I was saying. If the gun is not in the right kind of person's hand the results can be devastating , legal or illegal is another matter.

Re: The right to bear arms

Re: The right to bear arms

isn't this just a polite way of saying, "Abay o ulloo kay paThay......"

Re: The right to bear arms

I had one when I was single (and was in US). I gave it up after having kids (ok my wife forced me to sell it off) and then we moved to Canada where criminals have more rights than victim. Self defense laws are so poor here that I have to think twice before swinging my baseball bat if God forbid there is a breaking in my home.

In principal, I am against the law of carrying weapons unless you have some solid reasons like you have been the victim of target attack or you are a 24 hours store owner who fear's robbery etc

Re: The right to bear arms

naaaaaaaaaaaa, I only say it affectionately to only those I love and cherish like my friends and family and I cherish nice GS members as my family members.
GK is one nice member of GS as per my observation.

Re: The right to bear arms

Jaan de totay = Ulloo ke patthay :hmmm:

That means that Jaan = Ulloo, which means that Mirch is calling himself Ulloo?

Ok I cant argue with that.

Re: The right to bear arms

Are you serious? Please tell us more.

Re: The right to bear arms

I'll search for cases and post the link but you are not allowed to use force unless you think your life in in danger. If guys are breaking in and running with hmm msay music system, you are not allowed to hit them.
