you are missing the point - criminals rely on legally obtained weapons,** your average thug doesn’t buy his guns from a russian arms dealer. he gets it from his neighbour who “lost” his 3rd legally bought firearm**. you make it easier for people to buy guys legally, you make it that much easier for criminals to get them. i mentioned mexico because in mexico, it is almost impossible for a civilian to buy a gun. the criminals pay big money to risk smuggling legally bought american guns.

once its reported lost, doesn’t it become illegal weapon?
