As TLK said, just because he is unarmed does not mean that he can not harm you and your family. I’d rather see him bleeding lying on the floor than one of my loved ones. What if he is running away and he decided to take one of your kid hostage? Why let situation go that far?

When unwanted people are around someone’s family, they rarely think about the consequences and the law. All they want at that point in time, to get the family out of it by any mean. I hit the guy intentionally with my car when the group was trying to rob us (New Jersy, US) . I am not sure if his bones were broken, I dont know how many stitches he got on the wound but I know one thing and that is I dont regret that at all.
