DC6 isn’t wrong about the legal system making mistakes when they charge someone, but in principle, the law makes sense.

You can use force or deadly force to protect your own or someone else’s life, but not to protect property. If you look at it - it’s putting greater value on human life than property.

Personally I think, intruders give away their right once they break into my house …period! I will not wait and let them make a move first with my kids in the house. I’ll not only swing my bat, I’ll swing it hard so they can not get up again of the floor.

We all know about popular David Chen case. A store owner who made a citizen arrest was charged by police. Guy stole stuff from his store and came back for shoplifting after 1 hour of first trip.
