Are people really getting it made of lawn material? Do they survive?
Re: The question about churidar
Don't wear lawn too often but i did get a couple of dresses made with A-line shirts and choridar. They are good as long as stitched properly. Cheers - Annie
Re: The question about churidar
whts the best material for churidaars? can anyone help plz.
Re: The question about churidar
cotton and lawn both can be used for churidar in summer.
Re: The question about churidar
I have a couple of lawn one's and they really don't look that pretty after a wash especially those awful creases!
have them made in cotton instead, will last much longer.
Re: The question about churidar
I m wearing those ready courier from khaadi, it's very good stretchable material.
even got lawn ones also they also look nice
Re: The question about churidar
I can't really wear churidar.. I'm quite slim but my legs aren't :(

Choridar with long shirts/frocks look really nice. And if you don't get anything off the shelf, you can always get them custom stitched. Instead of using fabric for one choridar, get more fabric with more width so that the diagonal makes it more stretchable. That way it would fit perfectly irrespective of the type of fabric used.
Re: The question about churidar
my lawn outfits came with cotton churiddars. I would be scrared of ripping the lawn ones by the stretching and pulling.
Re: The question about churidar
I like the jersey ones the best! They are just like stretchable tights but with lots of gathers at the end. They are available in almost all the colors now. A true blessing they are :)
For formal wear embossed satin looks good and has a fabulous fall!
Re: The question about churidar
I bought lots of the churidaars in the stretchable jersey fabric that are elasticized down the bottom of the leg. I love those! I should take pics and post those to show the selection of colours. I find they wear really well!
Re: The question about churidar
PG and Sherysh, where did you get those jersey pajamas from?
Re: The question about churidar
My mum bought some from Karachi (they cost around 250rps), I bought some from a local Toronto vendor for $10 (which if you think about it is three times the cost) and I’ve spoken to a Pakistani home-based designer who said she would sell it to me for about 500rps, with shipping on top.
Try your luck with local Pakistani stores - most should be carrying them.
Here’s a really blurry picture of them - I got the turquoise and the taupy-beige ones for $10 each.
Re: The question about churidar
Thanks Lady S. Wow a whole range of colors.

Got them from Pakistan, they are really cheap. Here they are sold for $10. I get a lot for my friends. Try at Indian stores, they have lots of colors.
Re: The question about churidar
I have black, white, raspberry pink, pinky-purple, cream, burgundy, turquoise and dark beige.
I want green, light pink brown and grey.
My intention is to get plain dupattas in the same colours as the pyjamas and then mix and match it with long kurta/kameezes in solid colours or pair it with some of my existing suits.
Re: The question about churidar
I’m going to send this picture to my sister and ask her to look for these in Lahore. I’ve tried getting churidars stitched from 3 different tailors in lahore, and was never pleased with the end result. ![]()
Re: The question about churidar
LOL! Do you know what I've heard them called? Bobbin pyjamas. The beauty of these is that unlike regular pyjamas, because the bottom is elaticized, the "choories" or gathering doesn't fall down. And because it's stretchy fabric it molds the leg and isn't too loose.
I personally don't like the ones with the elasticizing going all the way up the leg and thigh. These are meant for lambi kameezes (because of how fitted they are) - so this much gathering is enough. That because said, the styles vary with other details to make them more or less fancy.
Re: The question about churidar
wow, thats pretty neat!! I got tons of churidaars made from different tailors, all ill-fitted. The excuse I get is my legs are way too skinny . Thanks for posting this Sherysh.
Re: The question about churidar
The thing about chooridar is that you have to give the exact measurements, plus having it ruched at the end makes it fit really well.
