The peer faqeer syndrome

Re: The peer faqeer syndrome

Muqawwee, I’m not sure I follow your logic. If we’re talking about wordly love, there is a lot that can be said about men too … money, power, women/pleasure, escapism, etc.
I see going to peer fakeers, instead of turning to Quran, as weak faith. And to me, loving Allah’s creation and serving them is not poor faith. If anything, it strengthens our imaan ke jisne duniya aur hamaare loved ones ko banaaya hai, woh khud kitna khubsoorat/mukammal/azeem hoga.

Re: The peer faqeer syndrome

^ You might be surprised, how many ‘educated’ ‘high class’ people and women believe in peeri muridi or doing ‘bayt’ on an ‘Aalim’, “Roohani Peshwa”, making that person almost complete controller of their lives, and thoughts.

Re: The peer faqeer syndrome

I wanna know more about the deficient intelligence of women and where the prophet pbuh makes such reference.

If someone can provide direct quotes on this matter, I will be eternally grateful.
Please and Thank you.

Re: The peer faqeer syndrome

You ain’t gonna accept it anyways..so whats the point of asking for reference?

Re: The peer faqeer syndrome

I think that is a major misconception that the educated and rich (upperclass) people rarely indulge in such shady matters. I recall watching this documentary on black magic and taweez business, and this ‘magician’ also said that it’s the rich people who bring in the big money and keep the business going.

Education and or social (economical) status has nothing to do with it. It’s weakness, paranoia, jealousy, insecurity, vindictiveness and hunger for power that makes people do this.

Re: The peer faqeer syndrome

hmm interesting! I come from a village in Pakistan. So in my limited experience, I saw the lower class with such mentality that the explanation for all their problems must be buri nazar, taaweez ganda, jaadu tona, etc. Beta bigar gaya hai, tu peer baba ke pass chalen. Aulaad nahi ho rahi tu baba ji ke darbaar chalen. Fasal achi nahi rahi is season main, tu yaqeenan kisi ne kuch karwaya hai.
But it makes sense that the big money probably comes from loaded families where the stakes are much higher.

Peers Faqeers like peer double shah :bummer:
Society ka satyanaas !

Re: The peer faqeer syndrome

Peer Faqeer can be real or fake. The real ones help out people in religious matters and give proper guidance to their mureeds and don’t take money like the other fake who give ads in newspapers for e.g. ‘Peer Aamil Shah, mehboob aapke qadmoon par, biwi shohar saas qaboo mein, all bs’. The peer faqeer is more related to Sufism part of Islam. I never went to them but my uncle was mureed of one buzurg and he asked him to make him his mureed so buzurg said first you’ve to fulfill one condition that go and start pray 5 times with jamaat for one year then come back so my Uncle asked how would you know if I’m praying or not so he replied we know everything, so for me they aren’t doing anything wrong if bringing somebody back on the right track.
