about abu ubaidah b jarrah[ra] a incident worth remembering , during caliphate of umar[ra] in conquest of syria the muslims recieved a temporary setback and a town they had captured was recaptured by the byzantines. When muslims finally retook it the jizya collected for the time this town as under occupation of byzantines was redistributed to the christians as muslims were unable to defend them.
Such was the sense of duty of the early muslims towards the protected minorities.....
