The very encouraging development in the last week is how close the PPP and MQM have been working to maintain peace and harmony in Karachi. That is quite a historic development.

Both MQM and PPP despite everything does represent true populist movements, which is why PML is worried now.

Well I don’t like both BB and the MQM, but if them working closer together means that the long running enmity between their parties comes to a final end, and Karachi remains peaceful then best of luck to them.

Indeed. Wouldn’t it be nice to see BB sitting next to her MQM partners in the National Assembly and working towards a peaceful Pakistan.

Aalsi, BB has practically alienated all the opposition parties in her drive to grab power by way of American and Pak Army support. Plus, she knows that she cannot effectively rule her home base of Sindh without MQM support, and with the war on terror a more global concern, she cannot afford to pick fights with groups internally. So the MQM is pretty key to her plans to form an effective coalition government, hence she is busy kissing upto Altaf and his party henchmen.

Spock bhaijan, what you keep forgetting is that whether people like MQM or not, they will make a huge difference at the next general election with the number of seats the coallition govt has.

Benazir underhand deal with MQM for power is regrettable - PML N leader
In an interview with Online, the former CM NWFP said that the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and father of Benazir Bhutto, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had sacrificed his life for the his principles but Benazir has struck underhand deal with MQM to get power through illegal ways. He said that MQM’s hands are colored with the blood of innocent people of Punjab and NWFP and is involved in anti-state activities. MQM is playing a game for the separation of Karachi from Pakistan and the rulers and Generals are fully aware of it, he added.
He said that America has united Gen. Pervez Musharraf, MQM and Benazir Bhutto for the completion of its agenda. The United States itself is the main hurdle in the return of former PM Mian Nawaz Sharif, therefore pressurizing Saudi Arabia not to allow Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to return to Pakistan, he maintained.
